New to Grow
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 12 years of experience supporting adolescents, adults, and families. My style is laid-back, supportive, and honest—I want therapy to feel like a space where you can be yourself, while also being challenged when needed. I support clients navigating anxiety, relationships, life transitions, family dynamics, grief, trauma, self-esteem, and patterns they’re ready to change.
Our first session is really about getting to know you; what brings you to therapy, what’s been going on, and what you hope to get out of our time together. I create a relaxed, judgment-free zone where you don’t have to have everything figured out or know exactly what to say. Together, we’ll identify what you’d like to work on and begin setting goals that feel realistic and meaningful to you. Most importantly, we’ll start building a therapeutic relationship that feels comfortable, genuine, and right for you.
I believe one of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to connect with people in a way that feels genuine, comfortable, and relatable. I’m pretty laid-back in my approach, but I’m also honest and direct when needed. I want my clients to feel supported and understood, but I also believe growth sometimes requires having uncomfortable conversations and looking at things from a different perspective. I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Everyone comes with their own experiences, challenges, and goals, so I tailor my approach to meet each client where they are. I incorporate different therapeutic techniques, including CBT and DBT, while making sure our sessions feel like real conversations rather than a series of clinical questions. With over a decade of experience working with individuals and families, I've learned the importance of listening without judgment, being patient, and recognizing that progress looks different for everyone. I'm not here to tell you what you want to hear, nor am I here to tell you how to live your life. My role is to help you work through challenges, recognize patterns, develop healthier coping skills, and gain a better understanding of yourself. I also bring a little humor when appropriate because I believe therapy can be meaningful without always feeling heavy. Above all, I strive to create a space where you can show up as yourself, have honest conversations, feel supported, and do the work necessary to create meaningful change.
My ideal client is someone who wants to better understand themselves, improve their relationships, or make meaningful changes in their life, even if they're not quite sure where to start. You may be dealing with anxiety, self-esteem concerns, relationship challenges, past experiences, or simply feeling stuck in certain areas of your life. Maybe you've noticed yourself repeating the same patterns, struggling to set boundaries, or putting everyone else's needs before your own. Whatever brings you to therapy, you don't have to have everything figured out before getting started. I enjoy working with individuals who are open to exploring different perspectives, having honest conversations, and learning more about themselves. That doesn't mean you have to come into every session knowing exactly what to say or being ready to tackle everything at once. Some days, you may have a lot to unpack, and other days, you may not know where to begin. Both are perfectly okay. I also recognize that not everyone comes to therapy feeling motivated or comfortable opening up, especially in the beginning. Building trust takes time, and I respect that. My goal is to meet you where you are while helping you work toward where you want to be. I believe therapy works best when it's a collaborative process. I'm not here to tell you how to live your life or make decisions for you. However, I will encourage you to challenge unhelpful thinking, recognize patterns, and take accountability when needed. Ultimately, my ideal client isn't someone who has it all together. It's someone who is willing to show up, be themselves, and remain open to the possibility of growth. Whether that means making big changes or taking small steps, we'll work together to figure out what progress looks like for you.
I use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to help clients shift their focus from what's going wrong to what they can do to move forward. While I believe it's important to understand the challenges you're facing, I also want us to recognize your strengths, what's already working, and how we can build on those things. Together, we'll identify realistic goals, explore possible solutions, and focus on small, achievable steps that can lead to meaningful change. My approach is practical and collaborative. I want you to leave sessions not only with a better understanding of your challenges but also with a clearer sense of what you can do differently moving forward.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients better understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. Sometimes we get so used to certain ways of thinking or responding to situations that we don't realize how much they impact us. Through CBT, I help clients recognize unhelpful thought patterns, challenge negative beliefs, and explore healthier ways of responding to life's challenges. My approach is practical and collaborative. I'm not here to tell you how to think or feel, but I will encourage you to look at situations from different perspectives. My goal is to help you develop tools you can use outside of our sessions to navigate challenges, manage emotions, and make meaningful changes in your everyday life.
I use Narrative Therapy to help clients explore the stories they tell themselves about their lives, experiences, and identities. Sometimes, past experiences, relationships, or challenges can shape how we see ourselves, and we begin to define who we are based on what we've been through. Through this approach, I help clients separate themselves from their problems, challenge negative beliefs, and recognize that their experiences don't have to define them. Together, we'll explore different perspectives, identify personal strengths, and work toward creating a narrative that better reflects who you are and who you want to become. My goal is to help you understand your story while recognizing that you have the ability to shape what comes next.
