My name is Wynda and I've been in the field of Social Work since 2004. I've served in child welfare and community and healthcare programming. While serving within these populations, client impact has been plentiful. I enjoy planting seeds of empowerment and engaging to watch them grow. Clients become able to better manage their emotions, use effective communication and improve relationships. I started working in the Social Work field with children and families in the child welfare realm. I've continued the journey in the community health space with pregnant and parenting women and families. Throughout this time, I've continuously provided individual therapy to children and adults helping clients eliminate or diminish barriers that inhibit personal success.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Building our relationship and creating a safe space for sharing is the goal of session one. With that in mind, its all about you. Coming into this process is the first step and acknowledging that is key. Once we have the blueprint, we will devise a plan that works towards growth and change

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

While working with families, I've been able to assist with social-emotional barriers to family dynamics, and financial concerns and provide psychosocial support. This also includes the transitions associated with parenting, the birthing process, postpartum complications, and grief. In addition, I have continued to adapt my skill sets to assist clients suffering from anxiety and depression from historical traumas and ongoing life stressors.

My treatment methods

Motivational Interviewing

Using motivational interviewing and an empowering client approach, we go step by step to focus on individual tasks versus the lump sum thinking to increase confidence, self-leadership and internal motivation. Self doubt can be the primary reason behind stagnation. I'll help you move past that to accomplish your goals.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a form of talk therapy that I comingle with other therapeutic models to assist you with reframing “I can’t” statements into “I can” while we continually focus on your ability to resolve the presenting concern.
