New to Grow
Hi my name is Christina Axt and I am in a Licensed Professional Counselor. I work with individuals to help them better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors so they can make lasting, meaningful changes in their lives. My approach is collaborative, practical, and focused on helping you develop effective tools to manage challenges and move forward with confidence.
In our first session, my goal is to get to know you—what brings you to therapy, what challenges you're facing, and what goals you’d like to work toward. We’ll talk about your current concerns, your history, and what you’re hoping to gain from our work together. It’s also a chance for you to ask questions and get a feel for how I work. Most importantly, it’s a safe, judgment-free space where we begin building a trusting, collaborative relationship at your pace.
What sets my approach apart is its balance of empathy and structure. I use evidence-based methods, especially Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), to help you identify patterns that may be holding you back—and then give you practical tools to create real, lasting change
’m best positioned to support individuals who are feeling stuck in unhelpful thought patterns, struggling with anxiety, low mood, stress, or self-doubt, and are motivated to make real, lasting change. Many of my clients are navigating life transitions, managing overwhelming emotions, or working to build healthier habits and relationships.
In my practice, I frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as a structured, goal-oriented approach to help clients understand the link between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I’ve found CBT particularly effective for clients struggling with anxiety and depression.
