LCSW, 12 years of experience
Hi, I’m Angela. I am a Board-Certified Licensed Clinical Social Worker dedicated to helping people navigate life’s challenges, discover their strengths, and see themselves in a new light. Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply ready for change, I provide a supportive space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions at your own pace. I have worked with individuals of all ages—from children to adults—and have extensive experience supporting adults with cognitive challenges. My approach is always individualized and adaptable, using modified strategies when needed to ensure therapy is practical, meaningful, and effective for you. Life can feel overwhelming when emotions seem impossible to manage. In our sessions, you set the pace. We’ll start by identifying what matters most to you and create goals that feel realistic and empowering. I draw from evidence-based methods such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and emotion-regulation skills training. For those processing difficult experiences, we can incorporate EMDR to help reduce distress and promote healing. In our sessions together, I will meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques so you can identify and overcome any barriers that you feel are holding you back. I also use Narrative Therapy to help you re-author your story—one that highlights your resilience, strengths, and growth. In our first session, we’ll use Motivational Interviewing to talk through your hopes for therapy, explore any concerns, and begin setting the foundation for change. Whether you're navigating anxiety, frustration, or interpersonal challenges, I will guide you in finding practical tools and skills to help you thrive. Together, we’ll take steps toward greater emotional balance and fulfillment in your life. We can work together!
During your initial therapy session, you can expect a warm and confidential environment where you're encouraged to share your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. I first talk about the therapeutic process, confidentiality, and your goals for therapy. Be prepared to provide some background information, such as your personal history and current challenges. I may also ask questions to better understand your situation and assess your needs. Approaching the first session with openness and a willingness to engage in the therapeutic process sets the foundation for a productive and supportive therapeutic relationship. I believe in meeting you where you are, listening deeply, and building a partnership grounded in respect, compassion, and collaboration. My role is to help you discover practical tools and insights that promote balance, self-acceptance, and fulfillment in your life. Together, we’ll focus on solutions, build coping skills, and create a safe, non-judgmental space for you to process emotions and move forward with confidence.
I understand that therapy isn’t always easy, and beginning with someone new can feel especially vulnerable. It is truly a privilege to accompany my clients as they work through what matters most to them. I bring warmth, compassion, and genuine understanding to the therapeutic relationship. Therapy is a collaborative process, and if what I’ve shared seems like a good fit for you, I invite you to reach out so we can get to know one another. I enjoy talking with people and will use a person centered approach while working on what is most important to you. I also like to focus on solutions and provide a safe space for you to process your feelings and talk about issues that may be going on in your life. I am looking forward to working with you.
I work very well with individuals struggling with the everyday stressors, work burnout, difficulty with peer relations, self-esteem and self-confidence, interpersonal relationships, stress and anxiety. I also provide support for people having difficulty with setting boundaries and establishing personal or professional goals.
In my work with clients, I use CBT to gently explore the thoughts and patterns that may be contributing to stress or emotional pain. Together, we look at how certain beliefs or habits may have developed over time, and how they show up in daily life. This approach offers practical tools and coping strategies that support you in navigating challenges more effectively. It also helps build confidence in your ability to solve problems and respond to life with greater clarity and balance. My role is to support you in making these changes in a compassionate, collaborative way—always at a pace that feels safe and comfortable for you.
In my work with clients, I use DBT to support building balance, stability, and emotional resilience. We explore mindfulness, grounding skills, and ways to navigate intense emotions with greater understanding and compassion for yourself. Together, we also work on strengthening communication and relationships, so you can express your needs while staying connected to others in meaningful ways. For individuals with cognitive or developmental differences, I use a modified DBT approach that breaks skills down into clear, accessible steps—focusing on replacing unhelpful or reactive behaviors with healthier responses to stress. My goal is to meet you exactly where you are, offering practical tools alongside encouragement and care. DBT is about building a life that feels more manageable, more aligned with your values, and more supportive of your well-being.
I use a person-centered approach that emphasizes personal growth, self-awareness, and the belief that people have the capacity for change. With a focus on the whole person, I have encouraged individuals to explore their feelings, values, and sense of purpose in a nonjudgmental and empathetic environment. I prioritize authenticity, active listening, and unconditional positive regard. The goal is to help people become more self-accepting.
I have experience incorporating mindfulness therapy to help individuals increase self-awareness and manage stress, anxiety, and emotional reactivity. I guide people in practicing present-moment awareness through breathing exercises, grounding techniques, and body scans. This approach supports emotional regulation and helps individuals respond to challenges with greater calm and clarity.
In my work with clients, I use CPT to help explore the beliefs and meanings that may have formed during painful or overwhelming experiences. Often, these beliefs show up as feeling “stuck” in patterns that don’t reflect who you are or the life you want to live. Together, we gently examine these patterns and the stories you’ve had to carry, with the goal of understanding where they came from and whether they still serve you.
