Clients come to me looking for a therapist who is relatable, with the skills to help, because therapy shouldn't be a place where you feel uncomfortable. As licensed clinical social worker, I have the skills to help. As a human, I have the compassion you deserve. You don't have to continue to struggle to keep it all together, and you don't have to do it alone. I have over 5 years of clinical experience working with people like you, and over 10 as a social worker in other capacities. I want to help you see all you're already doing right, and provide you with the skills to move past your current challenges.
In our first session, we will get to know one another, and I'll make sure I understand who you are and what you goals for therapy are. Our following sessions will be filled with developing your skills, giving you space express and explore your thoughts and feelings, and of course, some laughter. Together, we will make progress at your pace and on your time, in a way that feels best for you.
As a military wife, mom to 3 boys, and endurance athlete, I understand well the ups and downs of life, and have navigated through quite a few of my own personal challenges. I have the personal and professional experience to come alongside you to help you move through whatever you're facing, too.
I love working with college-age students and adults who are feeling stuck due to anxiety. The thoughts and behaviors that accompany anxiety can make it difficult to welcome a new baby, start a new career, or find a new friend group. My clients are eager to improve, do the work, and enjoy therapy in a non-traditional setting. They want to move forward in their lives and relationships, and are working to understand themselves better so they can live more authentically.
I use this model to help clients learn to accept the things in their life that are contributing to their stress, instead of trying to avoid these things. I use this with clients with OCD and anxiety often.
The way we were raised by our parental figures impacts us today. This approach can teach you more about how you relate to others. This is commonly used in couples' sessions, trauma treatment, and depression/anxiety treatment.
Our thoughts influence our feelings and behaviors. Change your thoughts, change your life. This technique is one of the best for treating OCD, depression and anxiety.
This approach focuses on you as an individual. I use it with every client. It highlights your strengths, not just "what's wrong".
This technique highlights how we feel in our bodies, and I use it to teach clients how to tolerate the discomfort life can bring.
