My name is Jennifer Macias, LCSW and I specialize in providing therapy to adults experiencing grief and loss. I also support clients experiencing relationship challenges, depression, anxiety, chronic illness, and problems with self-esteem or personal growth. I approach therapy with compassion and curiosity. As a Latina of Mexican-American descent, I also see clients who prefer to do sessions in Spanish.
I became a counselor because I’m passionate about helping people heal and grow. For nearly 10 years, I’ve served North Carolina as a Licensed Counselor, supporting clients of all ages through life’s challenges. My goal is to create a safe, compassionate space where each person is met with understanding that enables them to move toward a more authentic and fulfilling life. My own experiences have shaped my desire to help others, and I offer the same empathy and care I would want to receive myself.
As a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor (LCMHCS) and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS), I provide comprehensive therapy for individuals navigating mental health and substance use challenges. I support clients in addressing emotional, psychological, and behavioral concerns using evidence-based practices that foster resilience, healing, and sustainable personal growth. In addition to direct clinical work, I also supervise and mentor other counselors, helping to guide their development and ensure high-quality, compassionate care.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with several years of experience providing trauma-informed therapy. My work primarily focuses on helping clients understand and navigate the effects of trauma, chronic stress, and overwhelming life experiences. As a military spouse, I have firsthand insight into the impact of prolonged uncertainty, transitions, and cumulative stress, which informs my compassionate and grounded approach to care.
I draw from evidence-based, trauma-focused approaches to support clients in building emotional regulation, increasing self-awareness, and restoring a sense of safety and stability. Many of the clients I work with experience anxiety, relationship difficulties, hypervigilance, emotional numbness, or patterns shaped by past trauma. Therapy is collaborative and paced intentionally, allowing clients to engage in the process without feeling rushed or overwhelmed.
Earlier in my career, I worked extensively with children and adolescents. Today, I primarily support adults and couples while continuing to work with teen clients. This background allows me to consider how early experiences, attachment patterns, and relational dynamics can influence present-day functioning and relationships.
I am committed to creating a supportive and respectful therapeutic space where clients can explore their experiences, develop practical coping skills, and move toward healing at a pace that feels safe and sustainable.

With a deep passion for mental health advocacy, I specialize in helping individuals navigate life's challenges and complexities. I use evidence‑based practices while maintaining a warm, human presence, weaving together support that is both practical and compassionate.
My goal is to foster a trusting, collaborative space where clients feel safe exploring their thoughts, emotions, and struggles. I believe in empowering clients to build coping skills, strengthen self‑esteem, and cultivate the self‑awareness needed for meaningful change.
You are the expert on your own life. I’m here to help you uncover your strengths, rewrite the stories that no longer serve you, and help you build resilience to navigate challenges.
I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) located in northeastern North Carolina. I have 27 years of experience in the field as a clinical social worker and clinical and administrative supervisor. My experience is primarily in domestic violence, sexual assault, trauma, crisis intervention, grief, loss, major life transitions, chronic health problems, anxiety and depression. My clinical work has centered on providing trauma-based therapy to individuals impacted by complex trauma and PTSD. I use a trauma-informed lens in all aspects of care, helping clients stabilize, develop coping strategies and process traumatic experiences at a pace that feels safe. I draw on evidence-based approaches to guide recovery while empowering clients to regain control over their narratives and lives.
I am dedicated to helping people heal holistically from past traumas, anxiety, depression, anger or relationship challenges. I use a very effective treatment modality called Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help people heal from traumatic memories, negative beliefs about themselves, or past situations in one's life that have caused them emotional pain. In addition, I teach people how to manage their thoughts and emotions using mindfulness, mind/body, meditation practices, and cognitive behavioral methods. For those who are interested in healing their mental health naturally through changing their life style habits, I have training in how proper nutrition, sleep and exercise can help improve one's brain health, and therefore improve their mental health.
If you’re looking for someone who will sit back while you unravel your life's chaos alone, I’m not your person. But if you want someone who gently calls you out, celebrates your wins (even the small ones like doing laundry), and hands you actual tools (not just tissues), welcome. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused techniques, which is fancy for I help you identify the unhelpful thoughts doing donuts in your brain, and together we kick them out and get you moving forward.
I proudly support the LGBTQIA2+ community, and my practice is affirming, inclusive, and kink/poly-friendly. No judgment here, ever! Whether you're dealing with anxiety that won't shut up, depression that's overstayed its welcome, or you’re just trying to get it together-ish, we can work on making real, sustainable change.
You bring the honesty. I’ll bring the dry humor, the empathy, and the occasional metaphor that doesn’t totally land but somehow still helps. Remember YOU>it.

Hi, I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) based out of Morehead City, North Carolina. I have my Masters in Counseling from East Carolina University and have been working in this area for the past 13 years. I have mostly been working with adolescent and young adults during this time, but can work with any aged client that is ready to begin their counseling journey.
For more than twenty‐five years, I’ve helped adults navigate mid‐life challenges—whether related to depression, anxiety, relationship stress and breakups, or the natural shifts that come with aging. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward, I will help you create meaningful, lasting change. In our work, we may focus on strengthening distress tolerance, improving emotional regulation, enhancing interpersonal effectiveness, and reconnecting with what matters most to you. You’ll leave sessions with insight, direction, and strategies you can use right away—not just talk.
I'm solution‑focused, goal‑oriented, compassionate, and client‑centered. I work collaboratively to identify practical steps forward so we don’t stay stuck in the problem itself. Together, we’ll clarify what’s getting in the way and build tools that help you feel more grounded, capable and aligned with your values.
By focusing on the skills of distress tolerance, emotional regulation, mindfulness and interpersonal effectiveness, we can begin to feel more in control of our day to day responses to stressors. I provide sessions geared towards formulating, motivating, achieving, and sustaining desired behavioral change. It helps you get "unstuck" and back in control!
One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is seeing clients set meaningful, value-driven goals and achieving them. That's why I partner with you to ensure you are empowered to reach your full potential. As you work through life's transitions, I will be there to guide, encourage, and challenge you to push past obstacles and create the life you want.

Hello, my name is Stephen Pleasant, and I'm a psychotherapist for men. Why therapy for men? Well, because sometimes a man just needs a pork shoulder to cry on. That being said, I will also work with women as well.
It’s a recognized human tendency for men to get “stuck” in their lives and to end up “settling” for the status quo when deep down they know they are capable of a great deal more. Here’s the truth; You are never “stuck” with your present circumstances.
The Game of Life is a psychological and spiritual journey and winning at this game requires you to change your play and learn to think differently and do things in a new way.
I help men break out from being “stuck” in life, resigned to producing results that are disappointing to them and others. My goal is to see transformative progress in men’s confidence, clarity, and self-expression, so that they may gain the fuller personal and work life they thought was beyond them.
Are you looking to improve your overall mental health? Do you struggle with anxiety or depression? Do you want to change the way that you view yourself or life itself? I give tools that can help you overcome the lies that you have been told about who you are and discover the truths about yourself. I am an LCMHCS and I specialize in anxiety, depression, and trauma.
My philosophy is that no adversity is a waste of your time if you learn from it, become stronger because of it, and help others through it.
That is what I do.

You are stressed and filled with anxiety. Your thoughts are negative and you lack self-confidence. You feel so overwhelmed by emotions that you no longer know what you feel. Or maybe you are emotionally shutdown and just feel numb. Past traumatic events cause you to react to life in unhealthy ways. Intrusive thoughts keep distracting you from what you need to do each day. And you don’t understand why or how to change it.
If any of this sounds familiar, there is hope! It is possible to retrain your brain and to develop different ways of thinking about life. You can stop automatically reacting and learn to thoughtfully respond to stressors. I would love to work with you and help you better manage thoughts and stressful emotions.
Hi there,
I am Jen. Do you want to improve the quality of your life? Do you want to make long-lasting changes that improve areas of your life such as work and relationships? I work with clients to identify treatment goals at their 1st appointment, if possible and I also like to assign therapeutic "homework" since this helps clients practice and eventually acquire the skills they need to feel better about themselves and their lives.
No matter the issue, I'm here to help. Seeking therapy is a brave thing to do and I will provide a safe space to help you heal and grow. In our sessions, I will provide empathy, active listening and humor to help you overcome what is troubling you. I look forward to hearing from you soon!
