What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first seasion, you can expect me to go over a few housekeeping items, and then explore the reasons you are seeking therapy at this time. We will discuss your goals, and come up with a treatment plan. I will explain my treatment modalities, and answer any questions that you may have.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I feel that some of my biggest strengths are being able to provide a non-judgemental environment for my clients, as well as providing skills and tools to help them reduce their unwanted symptoms and behaviors. I am honest and open and provide feedback on areas that may be holding my clients back from achieving the life that they want to live.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been using CBT since 2015. I use this modality to help clients see life through a different lens. CBT is good for decreasing negative emotions and to increase more helpful emotions. CBT helps to identify cognitive distortions, and can be keeping you stuck in unhelpful thinking patterns.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT is another helpful modality to increase a clients skillset in mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. DBT uses very tangible coping skills that clients can use right away. It is important to give clients skills as soon as possible to that they can get some relief from their symptoms.
