I believe there is power in learning to balance our lives emotionally and spiritually. I have 25-plus years of experience as a counselor, and have been able to help clients find emotional and general life balance. I draw from primary treatment modalities of Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectical Behavioral, Solution Focused, Psychodynamic, and Existential Theories. At the conclusion of counseling, clients should be able to actively deal with their internal states in a way that allows them to feel more at peace with increased self-esteem, and well-being.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session we will get to know one another. I will be open with my clients about my background and stary to build a therapeutic relationship of trust and safety and answer any questions a client may have. Primarily the time will be sent understanding what is bringing a person to seek counseling. At the end of the first session, I would like to have a general understanding of the presenting problem and then make possible suggestions about different strategies to use to bring about balance as we work together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having been a counselor for over 25 years, I believe I am relatable and am able to establish a comfortable, supportive therapeutic environment. I really hope to create an environment where a client can feel more human, less abstract and alone, and that they are person with a problem, not a problem person. I am a strong listener and when working as a team with a client, pick up intuitively on underlying issues that will lead to insight and empowerment.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I have 25 plus years of experience as a counselor and have been able to help clients find emotional and general life balance. Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Helping clients to find emotional balance by understanding link between thoughts that when distorted effect our feelings and how feelings can cause our thoughts to be distorted. Finding alternatives to distorted thinking can assist in reaching a more balanced emotional state.

Existential

I have assisted clients in exploring purpose and meaning by examining how a person is suffering in life. To find purpose through exploration of the specifics of a person pain, can lead to elevated understanding of self and meaning.
