Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing in North Carolina. I received my Master's Degree in Social Work with an Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology/ Minor in Criminal Justice. I began my professional career working with at-risk children, teens and their families. I then expanded into working with adults providing individual and group therapy. My professional career is roughly 15+ years. I've worked within homes, schools, residential facilities, military installations, and community based programs. I'm currently focusing on providing individual therapy within a variety of mental health disorders.
My passion is to work with those who have struggled with the challenges of life; trauma, addiction, relationship issues, mood disorders, grief, attachment, career issues or any stress contributing to anxiety. They may have sought therapy in the past and have become discouraged, for whatever reason. The foundation of therapy is the therapeutic alliance. When one suffers various disorders, life becomes dull and motivation to live according to one's values instead of one's fears is threatened. It is critical that the therapist be attuned to the worldview of the client to facilitate healing, self acceptance and self compassion. Pain is inevitable while suffering is optional.

Craig Steckowski is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based out of California and serves clients in both California and Virginia. He served in the Marine Corps prior to attending Alliant University in Irvine, CA for his therapy Master’s degree. After school, Craig then went on to work in Orange County. He was an advocate with the court system for mental health treatment and rehabilitation from chemical dependency. He also spent some time working for an agency that provided support to the homeless population and later, in a community clinic in New Hampshire where he helped to create services that met the needs of the community.
Each of these experiences helped to shape Craig’s philosophy toward therapy, which is that therapy should be a non-judgemental, welcoming space for his clients to be their unfiltered, authentic selves. “I just truly want therapy to be a place that you look forward to and value,” he wants clients to know. “It’s your space, and nothing you say, do, or experience is going to change my perception of you.”
His main goal as a therapist is to connect with his clients and offer them a place of solid, consistent, and positive support that they can depend on. He prioritizes maintaining a low enough caseload that clients can maintain a regular therapy schedule with him. He also encourages his clients to reach out between sessions if need be. “If you need me to be your hype man and help you through something, I’ll be there.”
In his free time, Craig focuses on doing things that help rejuvenate him which includes spending time outside and quality time with his wife. He also regularly seeks professional support from a trusted mentor in the field to ensure he is practicing mindfully and ethically.
I provide goal-directed, collaborative therapy focused on embracing change as both constant and certain. I am trained and skilled in Solution-Focused Therapy, a goal-oriented and collaborative approach that helps individuals identify and build on their strengths to create positive changes in their lives. This method emphasizes finding practical solutions and fostering resilience, empowering individuals to navigate challenges effectively. I believe that individuals are the experts of their own experiences and possess the inner strengths and resources to overcome barriers to wellness and happiness. While I guide and support individuals in building skills to manage challenges, set realistic goals, and boost personal resilience, the responsibility for meaningful change rests with you. Taking the first step to find a therapist is a remarkable act of courage and an important investment in your well-being. I work with individuals from diverse backgrounds via telehealth, focusing on concerns such as anxiety, chronic stress, fear, shame, perfectionism, and self-critical patterns. I typically check messages after 6:00 p.m. (EST) weekdays and will respond as promptly as I can. Feel free to review my calendar for available sessions. I look forward to partnering with you on your journey.
Hello,
I know that sometimes counseling can seem taboo or generic. I strive to make the counseling experience more exciting and fulfilling. I have worked with many different populations and different cultures. I have worked in different settings such as offices, schools and group homes. I have conducted in person and telehealth therapy sessions to meet the needs of my clients. I have a Bachelor's in Criminology from NC State University in Raleigh, NC and a Masters Degree in Professional Counseling From Grand Canyon University. I am eager and ready to work with each client to address their specific needs whether it is couples counseling, family counseling, or individual counseling.
Would you like to create space for work/ life balance? Would it be helpful to learn more about the connection between your behaviors, feelings, and thoughts? Are you ready to talk about coping strategies- both those that work and learn new ones?
I work collaboratively with individuals and families to manage stressors, feelings of stress and anxiety, and cope with addictions. I help clients develop coping strategies that may challenge past thoughts and behaviors but lead toward the accomplishment of goals. Sometimes, it is simply reminding ourselves of what worked before and getting back on track and other times, it is about learning something never practiced before.

Hi.
I am a LPC in Georgia and a LCMHC in North Carolina. Additionally, I am a Nationally Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. I received my master's degree from VCU in 2015, became licensed in 2020, and have been practicing on my own ever since. I live by two mottos "It takes a village" and "take time for you". It is important to “take time for yourself,” because we need time to recharge, so that we can continue to persevere. However, there comes a time in everyone’s life where the support of the village is needed. That’s why I believe it "takes a village” and working together as a team is important. Whether it is a clinician and client duo, or a team of medical professionals, we can achieve reasonable and practical goals.

Life, at times, can present us with extraordinary challenges and circumstances leaving us feeling anxious, overwhelmed, depressed, and even hopeless. Symptoms may become so elevated that they affect our ability to function and interrupt family or social relationships.
What I provide is an opportunity to process life's difficulties with someone who cares and has the clinical knowledge to assist you with gaining insight and understanding while developing new strategies and coping skills to manage your mental health day by day. I offer primarily CBT therapy with a person-centered trauma-informed focus.

I am licensed as a Clinical Social Worker and I virtually assist folks living in Florida, North Carolina, and Massachusetts. For over 30 years I have worked with people within adolescent, adult, and elder populations, US military veterans, and folks in the LGBTQIA+ community. Many have struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, gender incongruence, mood disorders, psychosis, substance use disorders, grief and loss, and chronic pain and illness.
