New to Grow
Hello, I’m Alaina, LCSW, LCASA, and I’m honored to have the opportunity to work with you. I hold a BA in Organizational Leadership and a Master’s in Social Work from Baylor University. I am trained in CBT, DBT, CPT, substance use, and grief treatment. I bring an evidence-based approach to care while providing a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space for you to grow and heal.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session, you can expect a warm, nonjudgmental space where you are truly heard. I will take time to listen and understand your concerns while we begin to identify your goals for therapy and what you hope to gain from our work together.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I bring over ten years of experience, beginning in the nonprofit sector and later transitioning into the therapy space. Over the years, I’ve worked with a wide range of experiences and challenges, which has strengthened my patience and my ability to hold a supportive, steady space where you can feel safe, understood, and supported.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I am best positioned to work with individuals who are open to thoughtful reflection and growth, and who value a therapist who will gently yet directly challenge unhelpful thinking patterns. I work well with clients who are processing painful or overwhelming experiences and want a supportive space to feel and understand their emotions. I also support those who are motivated to learn practical skills to better manage daily stressors, improve emotional regulation, and feel more confident navigating everyday life.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Together, we will identify and explore patterns of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that may be contributing to distress. Through a collaborative and supportive approach, we will challenge unhelpful thinking, strengthen effective coping skills, and develop practical strategies that promote meaningful, lasting change.
Cognitive Processing (CPT)
Together, we will explore how past experiences may be influencing current thoughts and beliefs. Using a structured and supportive approach, we will work to challenge unhelpful or stuck beliefs, develop more balanced perspectives, and reduce the emotional impact of trauma to support healing and growth.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
Together, we will focus on building practical skills to help manage intense emotions, navigate relationships more effectively, and cope with distress. DBT skills emphasize mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness to support greater balance and confidence in daily life.
