My counseling approach is characterized by a combination of honesty, empathy, and compassion, complemented by a subtle touch of humor. I employ an eclectic counseling approach that encompasses various therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Play Therapy/Child Centered Play Therapy, Art Therapy, and Solution-Focused therapy. I believe there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy, so I focus on what works best for each person. I’m committed to adjusting my style to fit each client’s unique needs and challenges. In my free time, I live for spending quality moments with my two pups and close friends. Additionally, I relish day trips and attending performances featuring Drag Queens. I look forward to the opportunity to provide you with the support you need on your therapeutic journey.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Clients can expect a first session that feels casual, welcoming, and laid back. I approach therapy with authenticity, humor, and flexibility, creating a space where you don’t have to have everything figured out or say things perfectly. We will go at your pace and focus on what feels most important to you in the moment, rather than following a rigid or scripted agenda. While I take the work seriously, I believe therapy does not have to feel formal or intimidating to be effective. My goal is for clients to feel comfortable, understood, and supported from the very first session.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What stands out about my therapeutic approach is the balance I bring between evidence-based interventions and a genuine, human connection. I adapt my methods to each client rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all model, integrating modalities such as CBT, DBT, person-centered therapy, and play therapy in ways that feel natural and practical. I am flexible, collaborative, and responsive in session, allowing therapy to flow based on client needs while still maintaining clinical intention. Clients often share that therapy feels approachable, engaging, and effective because it is grounded in both skill-building and authenticity. My goal is to create meaningful progress without therapy feeling rigid, intimidating, or disconnected from real life.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to work with children, adolescents, and adults who are seeking support with anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, stress, and life transitions. Many of my clients feel overwhelmed, stuck in unhelpful patterns, or unsure how to navigate strong emotions or relational challenges. I work well with individuals who are open to self-reflection, skill-building, and developing practical tools they can use in daily life. I also support children and families who benefit from developmentally appropriate, play-based interventions and collaborative caregiver involvement. My ideal clients are those who are ready to explore their experiences in a supportive, nonjudgmental space and work toward greater emotional understanding, resilience, and balance.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a core modality I use to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. In my practice, I collaborate with clients to identify unhelpful thought patterns, increase awareness of emotional responses, and develop practical coping strategies that support meaningful behavior change. I tailor CBT interventions to each client’s developmental level and lived experience, using psychoeducation, cognitive restructuring, behavioral activation, and skills-based tools to promote insight, emotional regulation, and resilience. My approach emphasizes collaboration, flexibility, and real-world application so clients can apply skills both in and outside of session.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based approach I use to help clients build skills for managing intense emotions, improving distress tolerance, and strengthening interpersonal effectiveness. In my practice, DBT skills are integrated in a flexible, client-centered way and may include mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and communication strategies. I collaborate with clients to increase emotional awareness, reduce impulsive behaviors, and develop healthier coping responses, while balancing acceptance and change. DBT interventions are adapted to meet clients where they are and support both short-term stabilization and long-term emotional growth.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Person-Centered Therapy is foundational to my work and guides how I build safe, trusting therapeutic relationships. I provide a nonjudgmental, empathetic, and supportive environment where clients feel heard, valued, and respected. By emphasizing unconditional positive regard, authenticity, and collaboration, I support clients in exploring their experiences, increasing self-awareness, and reconnecting with their own strengths and values. This approach allows clients to move at their own pace while fostering autonomy, self-acceptance, and meaningful personal growth.

Play Therapy

Play Therapy is a developmentally appropriate approach I use to help children express emotions, process experiences, and build coping skills through play. In my practice, play serves as a child’s natural language and is used to support emotional expression, problem-solving, and self-regulation. I incorporate both child-centered and directive play therapy interventions, using toys, games, art, and imaginative play to explore themes related to relationships, stressors, and emotional needs. Through the therapeutic relationship and intentional play, children are supported in developing emotional insight, resilience, and healthier ways of communicating their needs.
