LCSW, 22 years of experience
New to Grow
Hi, I’m Katheryn! I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in North Carolina with over 20 years of professional experience. Taking the first step toward a more fulfilling and balanced life takes courage, and I’m here to support you through that process. Together, we can explore challenges, build on your strengths, and work toward meaningful growth and lasting positive change. I would be honored to walk with you on this journey.
During our first session, we’ll get to know each other, discuss the concerns you’re facing, and develop a plan tailored to your unique needs. I look forward to helping you find balance, build resilience, and move toward a happier, more fulfilling life.
Clients describe me as supportive, caring, and compassionate, with a laid-back style and a good sense of humor. I like to focus on your strengths and help you use them to overcome obstacles and create positive change in your life.
I help clients navigate stress and anxiety, compassion fatigue, work-life balance, grief and loss, depression, relationship challenges, and major life changes. My goal is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can explore what’s been weighing on you and work toward meaningful change. My approach is very client-centered—therapy is about your goals and what feels most helpful to you. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), but also draw from mindfulness, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, and solution-focused therapy.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a type of talk therapy that helps you understand how your thoughts, feelings, and actions are connected. By learning to spot unhelpful thinking patterns and replace them with more balanced ones, you can improve how you feel and handle life's challenges more effectively.
Mindfulness-based therapy helps you learn to focus on the present moment in a calm and nonjudgmental way. It teaches you to notice your thoughts and feelings without getting caught up in them, so you can respond to stress and difficult emotions more calmly and clearly. Over time, this can help you feel more balanced, less anxious, and more in control of your reactions.
Eclectic therapy is a flexible approach that combines different types of therapy to fit your unique needs. Instead of just sticking to one method, we will use tools and techniques from several approaches to find out what works best for you. The goal is to create a personalized plan that supports your goals and helps you make lasting changes.
