My goal is to assist you in developing your vision and journey in becoming your best and desired self. I am person centered and enjoy applying creative strategies in my practice; such as the use of art, music-videos, narrative mediums and activities. I believe that everyone is capable of change. I have extensive experience with working with adolescents, adults, and families. I am an active supporter of persons and groups of varied cultural backgrounds and individuals in the LGBTQ+ community.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first session, expect for me to gather information regarding historical and current data addressing symptoms, family dynamics, and treatment. I like to gather this information in a conversation based method . During this time I am also building rapport. Expect questions pertaining to what you enjoy doing, who are your natural supports, and what brings you to making this big and brave step to seek external supports.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am willing to use non traditional methods. I enjoy music, art, books, and movies and often use these methods to assist individuals and families in their therapeutic journey. I am an active listener and I am patient. I am person centered and culturally aware. I believe that you are the expert to your life and support self determination

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I walk clients through a process of identifying thoughts , feelings, and behaviors with dissecting the dysfunctional thoughts , and reframing them to produce accurate thoughts. With increasing accurate thoughts, developing a framework to generate a list of potential solutions.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

Incorporating active listening. Opening the doors to communication and respecting the life perspective of each client. I encourage clients to share their thoughts and experiences as it pertains to their unique experiences. My purpose is to assist client's with generating tasks and solutions to meet their identified goals, with also respecting their culture and beliefs.

Motivational Interviewing

I have a process of asking open ended questions. I offer affirmations of client self efficacy, hope, and confidence to motivate the client to seek change. I very often use number lines or color patterns to assess where the client is and how to move effectively towards desired change.

Eclectic

I utilize various methods of treatment modalities ; such as art, narrative, and filmography to address trauma, depression, and anxiety
