My name is Nicole Richardson and I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2020. I was born and raised in mid-Michigan and moved to Eastern NC when I was stationed at Cherry Point in the Marine Corps. I started my own journey with mental health around the age of 22. In 2017 I started my professional journey with my undergrad degree in social work at UNCW. I then went on to obtain my master's through The University of Southern California. I enjoy plants (to a fault), hiking and exploring, painting, and music.
Our first session will focus on gaining a picture of the live you have lived, and what brings you to therapy. I focus on building a holistic picture - a history of your life including physical, social, spiritual, and more. The first session is one of hardest, yet most rewarding: telling your story to a stranger. I recognize that this is no easy feat. You will also get to gain a sense of whether I am the therapist for you - if so, we will begin planning your journey!
So many of those who I have served have been affected by some form of complex trauma. This is something that I am passionate about in my personal and professional life. I have formed a philosophy that I am always learning and always training to be my best and do my best as this world is ever-evolving. I truly enjoy the therapeutic process and believe in a strong therapeutic bond as being one of the most important factors in your journey.
