LCSW, 30 years of experience
New to Grow
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who brings over 30 years' experience in the areas of mental health and substance abuse treatment utilizing a holistic health approach. I have supported homeless Veterans and others while working with community, State and Federal agencies. Providing insight and discovery into underlying issues that lead to clients related situations, I focus on each clients' strengths and believe that everyone is able to overcome challenges by being supported and empowered as they seek to achieve their vision of wellness. Without judgement and allowing for a safe environment to express one's thoughts, I strive to make every client's experience individualized and tailored to their needs.
During our first session, we will review and discuss your expectation of therapy. I will explain treatment modalities and together we will determine the plan for your healing journey. My sessions are adaptable and is a pathway to self-discovery. Homework may be assigned as a bridge between sessions.
I bring a faith based, integrative, collaborative, approach by utilizing the whole health model which addresses eight areas of personhood to promoting health and well-being. In addition, mindfulness techniques will be offered for solution focused outcomes.
If you are a person who is ready and willing to move forward in addressing your area of concern, I would love to assist you by helping you develop the tools needed to cope with life's transitions and challenges. I experience a great deal of satisfaction witnessing healing and growth. I enjoy working with women who are eager to improve and create a better lifestyle for themselves, however, may feel stuck or overwhelmed and anxious about their life, health, spirituality and/or careers choices.
My therapeutic approach is integrative and tailored to meet the needs of each client. I address the mind, body, and spirit promoting the overall well-being through the use of integrated health coaching, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution focused therapy. I have worked with clients who were experiencing homelessness, addictions, spirituality conflicts, mental health and health concerns on an inpatient and outpatient basis. I've worked with those in community clinics and hospital clinics.
I am and have been connected to Christian counseling ministries where I utilize my knowledge of biblical principles to address the concerns of members in the congregation. My approach is based on faith and spirituality.
Working with Veterans who were homeless for over 12 years, I have utilized this approach to assist the Veteran in cognitive reframing which enabled them to move forward in problem solving and self-empowerment.
Addressing the immediate needs of the client by assisting the client to utilize their strength to resolve concerns through questions and feedback. Clients are encouraged to look at their strengths instead of the problem and work backwards towards resolutions.
Working in the community as an addiction's specialist, I worked with clients requiring cognitive interventions to address use, abuse relapse, and recovery.
