I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (S10174) in North Carolina. I received my MA in Community and Mental Health Counseling, from Webster University in 2011. I have been in clinical practice since 2012. I have a myriad of counseling experience working with children, adults, couples, and families that have focused on a variety of presenting problems such as depression, divorce recovery, marital conflict, anxiety, codependency, parenting techniques, grief, sexual brokenness and life transition. I provide an individualized treatment approach, displaying honesty and empathy while also offering a space that's safe and allows you to be your true self. I am dedicated to making the treatment experience worthwhile as we all strive to become a better version of ourselves.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first session with me, I will start by building a rapport and gathering some background information, but we will quickly get into the main reason you sought therapy. We will explore your most recent challenges and work together to develop a plan that helps you gain better control of your life and a sense of empowerment.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a provider, my greatest strength is developing a rapport with my clients, building a supportive and comfortable environment where they feel safe enough to share their thoughts and feelings. I believe in collaborating with clients to find the best possible solution, focusing on their strengths, needs and goals.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I often use cognitive behavioral therapy in my practice. During the first session, we'll explore what brought you to therapy and decide the most appropriate ways to help you progress. With CBT , we will also look at how your thoughts affect your experiences and emotions. During treatment we will explore how to move forward past those thoughts to change your feelings and improve your overall well being.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I utilize solution focus brief treatment to focus on current events and desires for the future. It's used from the client's perspective as the expert who creates their reality and what they want.

Motivational Interviewing

I utilize motivational interviewing as a counseling method that helps people resolve ambivalent feelings and insecurities to find internal motivation to change an undesired behavior.
