Hi! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based out of North Carolina. I received my Masters degree from Arizona State University and have been practicing for over 10 years. I believe that working together in a safe, non-judgmental environment can create space for the healing you deserve. In my early career I worked with Child Protective Services to support the reunification of children with their biological parents. I then moved to North Carolina to continue work with keeping families together that had suffered trauma and/or behavioral issues. From there, I worked as an individual therapist working with teenagers and adults. During that time, I led groups that focused on education for women who experienced anxiety on a daily basis. Prior to the Grow Therapy platform, I worked to support adults in crisis who needed immediate psychiatric support.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

I've found the most effective way to identifying problems and begin healing is for you to first feel safe and open in our sessions. That's why, in our first session, we will begin to build a rapport and make sure we are compatible to work together. Therapy can be scary to start and it's my job to help you feel at ease. Please feel free to come with any questions you might have for me. I strongly feel people truly benefit from therapy and if you do not feel it is a good fit with me, I encourage you to keep looking to find someone that feels right to you!

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

While working together, I will typically use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing. I feel a strength based approach is the most effective way to identify ways that will help you with your goals. I enjoy cheering you on while you find the best version of yourself.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Everyone is unique and deserves a unique approach to therapy. I specialize in working with people who have experienced trauma, anxiety, and/or depression. All I ask is that you come to therapy with an open mind and honesty. With that, together we can rule the world... or at least your mental health.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I’ve been using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in my practice for the past nine years. It’s helped dozens of clients challenge reoccurring thoughts and manage their anxiety. Using CBT will allow you to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We can then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a less anxious and stressed life.

I have made more progress with Annie in the short time that we have been working together than I have made in ten years with various other counselors. She is always quick to remind me that I am important and that my feeling are validated. She reminds me that I can get through anything. I look forward to where this goes.
