New to Grow
Hi, I’m Sydney, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor who specializes in helping women and college students navigate grief, anxiety, life transitions, and burnout. My approach is grounded in compassion, cultural awareness, and practical strategies that support both healing and growth. In our work together, I create a space that feels safe, real, and reflective, where you can unpack the hard stuff, reconnect with yourself, and move forward with greater peace and clarity.
In our first session, you can expect a calm, welcoming space where we slow down and get to know what’s bringing you to therapy. I’ll ask some questions about your story, what’s been weighing on you, and what you hope to gain from our work together. We’ll talk through your goals and begin identifying patterns or stressors that may be impacting your well-being. My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling seen, supported, and clear on the next steps in your healing journey.
What stands out about my therapeutic approach is that it’s practical, culturally aware, and grounded in real-life application. I blend evidence-based methods like CBT, mindfulness, solution-focused strategies, and couples or faith-informed counseling with a warm, supportive space that honors each client’s lived experience. My clients often tell me they feel truly seen and understood, while also gaining tangible tools to navigate grief, anxiety, burnout, and life transitions. The work we do together focuses on building resilience, self-awareness, and actionable steps so that healing isn’t just something you talk about, it’s something you live.
I’m best positioned to serve women who are navigating seasons of change, grief, or emotional exhaustion while still trying to show up strong for everyone around them. Many of my clients are high-achieving, purpose-driven individuals who feel stretched thin and ready to rediscover balance, rest, and a sense of self beyond survival mode. Together, we work to create space for healing, reflection, and practical growth so you can move forward feeling grounded, whole, and aligned with who you’re becoming.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a foundational approach in my work with clients. CBT allows us to slow down and notice the thoughts and patterns that often shape how we see ourselves and respond to the world. In sessions, I help clients build awareness around those patterns and practice new ways of thinking and coping that support healing, balance, and growth. Much of my experience with CBT comes from working with college students and adult women who are navigating grief, anxiety, and transitions in identity, purpose, and wellness. I integrate CBT with person-centered and trauma-informed care, always creating space for culture, faith, and lived experience to be part of the work. My goal is to help clients not just “think differently,” but to feel more grounded and empowered in how they care for themselves and move through life.
In my couples work, I create space for partners to slow down and really hear one another—beyond the surface of arguments or misunderstandings. My approach focuses on helping couples identify the patterns in communication, unmet needs, and emotional triggers that often keep them stuck. I draw from evidence-based approaches like Emotionally Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral strategies to help partners build stronger emotional connection, trust, and problem-solving skills. My goal is to support couples in finding healthier ways to navigate conflict, deepen understanding, and rebuild partnership from a place of honesty and care.
For clients who desire it, I offer faith-based counseling that honors the connection between spiritual wellness and emotional healing. I create space for clients to bring their beliefs, values, and questions about faith into the therapeutic process without fear of judgment. This approach blends evidence-based practices with spiritual reflection and prayer (when requested), helping clients explore how faith can serve as a source of strength, identity, and guidance. My goal is to support each person in aligning their healing journey with what feels true and sacred to them and since, emotional wellness and spiritual growth often move hand in hand.
In my work with clients, I often integrate mindfulness-based practices to help them slow down, reconnect with the present moment, and respond to life with greater awareness and compassion. This approach helps clients notice what’s happening internally, emotionally, mentally, and physically without judgment. Whether through guided breathing, grounding techniques, or reflection exercises, mindfulness supports healing from anxiety, grief, and burnout by building self-awareness and emotional regulation. I use mindfulness as both a coping tool and a pathway toward deeper self-acceptance, helping clients find calm and clarity even in the middle of life’s challenges.
