New to Grow
I am a licensed and board-certified psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. I have worked in the mental /behavioral health arena. I've experience in acute care, long-term care, and outpatient settings. I have been practicing as a PMHNP-BC for about two years. My passion is helping individuals function mentally to their full potential using psychotherapy and medications. Therefore, I aim to help my patients to the best of my capabilities.
In the first session together, I will start with brief introductions about my background and experience, then dive into the specific challenges the client is facing. This will help me create a tailored plan with the client to work through in follow-up sessions.
As a provider, I am a great listener, I try to read the client's facial expression in an attempt to understand the untold story. I educate my clients about the different types of medications for their conditions. I also work with my clients to agree on what model of treatment and medication they would prefer that would work for them.
I am trained to see patients throughout the life cycle. I am open to seeing any patient in the age group of 12 to the elderly. I am best positioned to treat children and adults with ADHD, acute depression, Major depression, Post-partum depression, anxiety, panic attack disorder, PTSD, and LGBT.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have seen lots of improvements in patients who have depression, ADHD, anxiety, and social anxiety. CBT helps change the patient's mindset regarding their condition and the cause of it.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
This type of therapy is used to reduce suicidal ideation and to reduce anxiety. It involves behavior change to help clients achieve the behavioral goal. Generally, it involves mindfulness, acceptance, and behavior-change strateegies.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
This type of therapy is used to treat patients with personality disorders and past trauma (PTSD)
