I'm a therapist who believes in promoting a therapeutic space that is safe for all. I believe in the strength of connection and the therapeutic relationship. My ultimate goal is for my clients to feel seen, heard, and empowered. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling. I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) since 2019. I love what I do and truly believe in the power of therapy. I love working with people and helping them navigate some of their most difficult moments in life. I'm looking forward to connecting with others through the Grow Therapy platform.
Your first session with me will include completing the intake. This just involves answering questions, providing history, and allows me to get to know you better. We will discuss the presenting issue, discuss goals, and build rapport. You share as much or as little as you'd like. I know the first session can seem nerve wracking, but I will do my best to make you feel comfortable and safe.
I am a firm believer that the therapeutic relationship between therapist and client is one of the most important factors in therapy. I place a lot of emphasis in getting to know my client and understanding what they need in order to be successful in their journey.
I have experience working with individuals, couples, and families. I have experience in the clinical setting where I have worked with a wide range of diagnoses, ages, and socioeconomic status. I have also worked for Dallas ISD as a clinician where I received experience working with children as young as 4. I specialize in depression, anxiety, adjustment/life changes, those coping with adversity, loss and grief. I am trained in cognitive behavioral therapy, EMDR, and DBT. However, I utilize a collaborative approach and I'm knowledgeable in a variety of modalities and therapies. I believe that there is no one-size-fits-all approach with treatment.
CBT is one my preferred treatment methods due to its structured format and effectiveness. I utilize CBT by focusing on psychoeducaiton, cognitive restructuring, behavioral activation, exposure therapy, skills training, and thought records.
