You wake up worried about the day ahead before you even get out of bed. At work, you're scared of making mistakes, it feels like everyone's waiting for you to mess up. When friends invite you out, you say “yes” but inside, you're nervous about going. At home, instead of relaxing, you keep thinking about awkward things you said or did, wondering what kind of impression you left on everyone. It feels like your brain won't turn off these thoughts that make you feel not good enough, and it's exhausting. These anxious thoughts are undercutting your confidence and affecting both your professional and personal relationships.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session is the assessment. This means we spend time exploring your history and also what is happening currently that caused you to reach out for help. This session gives us an idea of where you have been and where you would like to go. I will help you to formulate goals and remove those obstacles that have been in your way, sometimes for years.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am an excellent listener, trustworthy, open, nonjudgmental, optimistic, and empathetic. I have been in private practice for 36 years working with thousands of clients. I have learned what makes therapy successful. This experience helps you to cut through your resistance to change and to reach your goals more quickly.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have used CBT for 36 years at the time of this writing. It is designed to get you to look at what you are thinking and how it is affecting how you feel. You can then learn how to think more constructively to become happier and at peace.

Motivational Interviewing

MI will help you to learn how to motivate yourself to achieve the goals that you desire. It addresses your own internal resistance to getting what you want and then remove the obstacles standing in your way.

Psychodynamic

I have been using insight-oriented therapy for 36 years. This therapy will help you to better understand yourself, what drives you, and how your past affects your present. This knowledge can then be used to move forward in a direction that is not encumbered by your past.
