My name is Skye. I have worked with people with various mental health issues for the past 10 years. I have been a LCSW since 2019. Prior to working in an outpatient setting, I worked with the homeless population for 5 years. I am passionate about mental health and love my job. My hobbies are gardening, hiking and drinking too much coffee.
During the initial session I gather information about my client's environment, physical well being, mental health and any issue my client is currently struggling with. This information helps me customize a treatment plan specifically tailored to my client's needs.
I have a laid back approach where jokes are always welcomed. I want my clients to feel comfortable expressing their emotions and discussing hardships they have faced without judgment. My objective is to teach clients coping skills to manage depression, anxiety, anger, grief and encourage them to connect with their support system. I have helped individuals manage their mental health, couples overcome relationship difficulties and families reconnect.
I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in treatment. I work with my clients to identify unhealthy thoughts and behaviors in order to change to healthier patterns.
