Welcome! I'm Deepa Seetepalli, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Texas. Take a moment to acknowledge you've taken the first step towards bettering your mental health because, let's be honest - starting therapy can be empowering, confusing, or scary, all at the same time. I strive to create a safe and welcoming environment that allows clients to explore obstacles with concerns related to anxiety, depression, and/or self-care. With over 18 years of experience, I focus on helping clients develop assertive communication & boundaries with themselves and those around them that can help improve their quality of life. Therapy can foster personal development in whatever way you may be seeking and help build the life you so deeply deserve. If that's what you're looking for, I'm here when you're ready to share.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing and the outcomes/goals you desire to reach. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
Having worked with all ages of clients for over 18 years, I've developed a tried-and-true playbook for helping you identify the root cause of your challenges and create a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress.
CBT it is an evidence-based approach that empowers individuals to identify and change negative thought patterns, which directly impact their emotions and behaviors, making it an effective treatment for a wide range of mental health conditions like anxiety, depression, and eating disorders, allowing people to actively manage their symptoms and improve their quality of life by learning coping mechanisms and developing healthier thinking habits. One way I use it in my practice is having clients identify thinking patterns, understand the how developed, then find healthier ways to adapt them instead with practice.
Culturally sensitive psychotherapy is a therapeutic approach that considers a client's cultural background and identity when creating a treatment plan. This approach can help clients feel comfortable and understood, and can lead to better treatment outcomes. The culture is not limited to conventional culture by definition but can take account of the culture of a client's family, gender, generations cultures as well to name a few. One way I use it in my practice is to take a deep dive into what is culture of the individual client, how were they brought up, what are their particular beliefs and customs, what is important to them and keeping all those factors in mind while developing goals and new coping mechanisms.
Grief psychotherapy is a type of therapy that helps people deal with a difficult reaction to loss, transition and change. It can be used to treat complicated grief, which is when someone has an extreme reaction to a loss, such as the death of a loved one. One way I use it in therapy is to normalize the vast emotions that come along with loss and/or change, help clients identify the stages of grief, how grief changes over time, and the necessity of grief to heal.
