As a proactive and goal-oriented therapist, I specialize in helping individuals navigate their current challenges while overcoming past obstacles. Utilizing a blend of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and other modalities, I guide clients in understanding that emotions are transient experiences rather than defining traits. Together, we work to restructure your internal dialogue, fostering a positive mindset that empowers you to build upon your strengths. By embracing your strengths and learning to navigate around societal and human triggers and traps, we aim to cultivate a life that is authentic and free from limiting beliefs. My ultimate goal is to shift your focus from the barriers that hold you back to the possibilities that lie ahead, creating a brighter, more fulfilling future.
In our first session I like to get a high-level picture of your history and your family. It is important that I learn what you are hoping to achieve in counseling and discuss how we will prioritize your goals.
I find a grouping of different approaches works best for my clients. I always keep an eye on progressing through the plan we have developed. Many clients respond positively to cognitive behavioral therapy. I find this and components of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to be helpful for many.
My goal is always to help my clients identify and build upon what is working well in their lives. I apply over 20 years of experience in working with many clients in many different environments. Through this and a knack for efficiency, we quickly move towards getting some relief and joy going early on in the therapy process!
I am best positioned to serve adults who are proactive and committed to making meaningful changes in their lives. My ideal clients are those who recognize the value of therapy and are open to exploring their thoughts and emotions. They are willing to engage in the process and are coachable, understanding that personal growth requires effort and self-reflection. These clients seek to overcome past challenges and are ready to embrace new strategies for restructuring their inner dialogue. They are motivated to shift their focus from obstacles to strengths, aiming to create a more fulfilling and empowered future.
