If you've been looking for a place to let your hair down, in a judgement free zone this is the place for you. I believe therapy should be genuine—not overly formal or intimidating. Our approach centers on unconditional positive regard, making sure every client feels respected and valued. We focus on understanding what happened to you, rather than what's "wrong" with you, using a trauma-informed approach to help break down experiences in an accessible way.
In our first session I will share a little bit about myself to eliminate the initial anxiety of talking to someone you don't know! We will spend time familiarizing ourselves with each other while I get to know your needs and gain brief understanding of treatment goals.
I am not the "square, stereotypical" therapist. I pride myself in being my most authentic self because I want my clients to understand we are two humans in this space. I create a space for women to feel empowered, unembarrassed or ashamed. You are safe here.
In both Individual and Couples Therapy we take an approach that decolonizes the therapeutic process while considering how your current and historical environments impact your emotional and mental health. Therapy is your safe space to find understanding, validation and be challenged to create new skills and healthy patterns. I'd be happy to be an encourager on the journey of healing your soul.
Together we will work discover how your thoughts shape your actions, mood and beliefs. Once gaining this awareness we can begin to change our thought patterns.
Practicing mindfulness and being present can be difficult. By making a conscious effort to practice changing thought patterns, accepting whats not in your control, and being in the here-and now we work to gain tools for emotional regulation.
