Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I received my Masters from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minneota, and have been practicing for 5 years. As an EMDR-trained therapist, I work with many people hoping to gain understanding of their experienced trauma and lessen the impact it has on their ability to engage in daily life. In my non-EMDR practice, I enjoy working with young adults transitioning into college and careers, people struggling with relationships, and people wanting to gain a deeper understanding of their place in the world.
In our first session we'll start with introductions and I'll make sure any questions you have are answered. I'll have some questions about you and what you want me to know about you, and we'll dive into what your challenges and goals are.
I take a very person-centered approach and always keep you and your goals at the center of what we're doing. I know therapy can feel weird and scary and awkward; I don't think it has to be. I've developed a skillset and passion for diving in and examining your life together with you, which leads to a better understanding of self and the ability to develop a self-image and coping skills that really work for you.
Steph Anderson offers therapy covered by Managed Health Services (Managed Medicaid) and Medicaid - Managed Health Services in Indiana.
I am EMDR-trained and work with this modality with many clients, targeting trauma, anxiety, depression, desired behavioral changes, and much more.
My practice is informed by a mixture of treatment methods and theories, often utilizing CBT and DBT to assist clients in building skills for handling daily stressors and mood fluctuations.
