My name is Dr. Scherell D.G. Bryan. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Doctorate Degree in Ministry. I have over 10 years of experience in the mental health field. I love working with people. I provide telehealth counseling to individuals in several states. I am originally from Connecticut but have experienced living in other states and internationally. My areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, self-esteem, relationships, grief, and even Christian Therapy. My aim is to empower you to create positive changes in your life with the hope of you also setting and reaching realistic goals.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In on our first session together, I plan to gather as much information about you to develop treatment goals for your future therapy sessions. You will also be invited to ask questions about my approach, training, or anything that helps you feel more comfortable. No pressure to dive into everything at once. We will move at your pace, focusing on what feels most important to you right now. We will explore what brings you to counseling. Not just the challenges, but also your hopes, strengths, and what you would like to see change. Fit goes both ways. I will be reflecting on how I can best support you, and you are encouraged to do the same.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I am a great nonjudgement listener. Your mental health is the focal point of all sessions. The therapeutic approach would be Eclectic, but mostly when providing individual counseling, Client Centered Therapy (Carl Rogers) is preferred. I chose this theory to allow the client to lead and move at his or her own pace. I respect clients as human beings with his or her own free will and I operate under the assumption that he or she is doing the best they can. I believe the client has the answers to their problems or concerns, but the therapist is needed to assist with helping the client gain insight. My goal for the client is to eventually begin feeling confident and comfortable with making his or her own decisions.

I enjoy working with clients who are willing to do the work. Therapy is a process that involves work that is intentional to help reach realistic goals that have been set to fit your individual needs.
