Hola! If you are looking for a psychotherapist who is empathetic, open-minded, occasionally funny, and most importantly someone who will push you take the driver's seat in your own treatment, then I am the therapist for you. I’m here to help you to take back ownership of your own life when your symptoms have made you feel powerless. I am trained in a variety of modalities: CBT, DBT, ACT, CPT and psychodynamic therapy. I will use the modalities that I think will most benefit my clients' progress.
In our first session, I will gather psychosocial information about you that will help me paint a thorough picture of who you are and what your needs are. I will ask you what your specifics goals are for treatment, and I will also let you know what I require from you to make this an effective working relationship.
I have worked with a variety of populations, from homeless to high-power and affluent clientele. This has allowed me to develop a great sense of empathy as I have truly seen how mental health problems do not discriminate base on race, gender, or wealth. I hold each of my clients with unconditional regard and respect, but I am also not afraid to push my clients when it is needed.
I love working with people who are highly motivated to improve but don't yet have the tools necessary to make those improvements. I enjoy working with 18+ individuals with a history of trauma, emotional dysregulation, or new mothers.
I use an eclectic approach to treatment. I have extensive training in DBT, CBT, ACT, CPT, and psychodynamic therapy. What modalities I use, depends on the needs of my clients. I'm also great fan of psychoeducation. Psychoeducation refers to providing clear information to clients about their mental health conditions, coping skills , and the best treatment approach.
I am trained in CBT and have been using this modality since 2013. I use CBT to help patient challenge distorted thinking/beliefs that impact their behaviors negatively. I use to run CBT groups in a residential treatment facility.
I used psychodynamic therapy in the treatment of CPTSD and dissociative disorders. This modality helps to uncover unconscious or subconscious actions that may be negatively impacting your behavior.
I am intensively trained by Behavioral Tech in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, which I use when it is appropriate. This modaility is most helpful for emotional regulation.
I am trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy by co-developer, Kate Chard. I have also been trained in the ISSTD model for treatment of complex trauma and dissociation. I used to run Trauma Education and CPT groups in a residential treatment facility
