I have been working as a therapist for over 20 years and I love getting to help adolescents, teens, and adults on their journeys through self discovery and self reflection as we work together towards growth and empowerment. I want to help you find your voice and help you to be a strong advocate for yourself and what you need. Change does not have to be scary and it is never too late to take that first step.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session together it will just be about getting some background information about you and what brings you to therapy. I want to get to know you and what you like to do. I believe that in order for therapy to be successful you have to establish trust and to do that you have to feel comfortable that you made the right decision with choosing me. So this first session is about getting to know me and my style just as much as it is getting to know you to make sure this is the right fit for you. After all these sessions are for you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I have a diverse background. I studied dance movement therapy so while I don't specifically use dance now I pull from a variety of approaches in my sessions. I like to think outside of the box when giving suggestions and helping with coping skills or strategies to solve a problem. I am pretty laid back and I love to learn so I am constantly trying to add new ideas to sessions.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I love working with young adults in college or recent college grads trying to figure out their place in the world. I enjoy being able to help someone on their journey to figuring out life transitions whether it be a young grad, a new parent, or even someone looking to change careers. I am also interested in women's issues so working with women in perimenopause or who feel misunderstood or not seen is a group that I want to support. It is important that women have a place to have their voices heard and can work through their feelings and know what they are feeling is normal.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I believe in person-centered therapy as it focuses on allowing sessions to be client-led. The therapeutic space is meant to be a warm, nonjudgmental and safe space where clients are able to use self reflection to work through feelings with the help of the therapist. I will listen provide, empathy and work to build trust. Because it is mostly client-led, there is not always a strict agenda but I hope to reflect back your feelings and words so you feel understood and can explore your own thoughts and choices. The goal is to help you increase self-awareness, self-acceptance, and access your own solutions at your pace.
