As a member of the Rainbow community, LGBTQI+ clients can find a safe space to land, I have a special connection with others within my community. I am happy to help & I’ve got your back! Authenticity is my strength as well as my style of choice. I celebrate when women can find their own unique and powerful identities as people and find their special strengths and abilities. May I have the privilege of helping you discover how wonderful you really are? I am a 1990 graduate of the University of Maryland’s School of Social Work. I have a MSW, with a concentration in clinical social work. I am licensed as an MD LCSW-C. I have extensive knowledge and experience in working with clients who are seeking clinical support with issues across the mental health/wellness spectrum.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our initial session, you should expect to be given a brief introduction sharing with you who and what I am as a person/therapist. and how I approach working with clients. I would also like for clients to take the opportunity to share with me a little bit about themselves and to touch on the issues/problems that they are concerned about. My main goal for the 1st session is to give clients a chance to decide if they want to work with me or would like to be referred to a different therapist.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am a member of the Rainbow community and have experiential knowledge of some the stuggles that members of the LGBTQI+ community encounter in life. I am an older therapist with special skills relating to issues that affect older clients and their caregivers.

My treatment methods

Eclectic

I use any mumber of treatment methods, throughout my practice. Treatment is tailored to the client and the Therapuetic and LIfe Goals, that clients set for themselves, in their therapeutic journey/experience.

Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Suicide Prevention (CBT-SP)

Cognative reframing is used to address anxiety and issues that stem for prior trauma and problematic life experiences.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I always want to address problems in a the best way to prepare clients to discharge from therapy, as soon as they feel capable and equiped to manage on their own without my support.

Strength-Based

It is important for me to help clients discover their own unique set of strengths, knowledge, and abilities. These are the basic tools that client's will use to address their existing problems and problems and expiences they may have in the future.
