I am an LCSW in CT and an LICSW in MA. I graduated from UCONN with a MASTERS degree in Social Work. I help adults with personal issues and mental health issues in general. I've been a therapist for 20+ years which has helped me become very comfortable in my role as a therapist. I love what I do as I know I am help others improve their lives.
The first session is generally for building rapport with clients. I try to keep 1st session very light and brief but at the same time obtaining information that will help me formulate a full treatment plan.
I feel my greatest strengths are the special ability to engage with clients from the get go and my ability to help the client feel relax.
I enjoy working with adults suffering from depression and anxiety and other debilitating mental health issues. I have served clients who are seriously seeking treatment to improve their lives. I get joy when I witness my clients improving and are able to help themselves get unstuck. The best joy for me is when clients appreciate my help and they thank me for helping them.
I have found through my years of experience that CBT is a self-help approach. my aim is usually to help the patient develop skills to overcome current problems and similar ones in the future.
