LMFT, 7 years of experience
Greetings! My name is Janel M. Davis, LMFT, QS. I am an experienced and passionate Licensed Clinician who enjoys empowering and helping others on their mental wellness journey. I believe that sustainable change is possible and the the journey to healing and wellness is progressive. I am a collaborative therapist with experience with different evidenced based modalities. Additionally, I am trauma-informed and use Attachment Theory to inform my work. I am a Christian Minister and incorporate prayer and scripture in my counseling/ therapy approach for clients who are comfortable with it and seeking a faith-based clinician. I am excited to partner with you on this journey and am rooting for you every step of the way!
I utilize my first session with clients to gather Biological, Social, and Psychological information about you. Additionally, I like to share who I am as a clinician and person as well as my style and approach to therapy. Finally, I also like to assess whether we might be a good fit for each other.
My style and approach to therapy is collaborative, warm, and supportive. I believe that therapeutic alliance is a vital part of the healing process.
My passion is to work with those who are eager, excited, and motivated for change and growth. I am not a Directive Therapist however, I will push you to become your best self. My specialty areas are working with those struggling with Depression, Anxiety, Spirituality, and Low-self esteem.
I am a Christian and ordained Minister since 2014. The Bible offers guidance for practical and successful daily living. For those that are looking for a faith-based clinician I believe the Bible is an essential tool in the healing and counseling process.
I am CBT-Informed clinician. CBT emphasizes the connection between thoughts and feelings. This approach makes it possible to identify and replace unhelpful thought patterns. One can learn how to conquer unhelpful and toxic thought patterns and create more positive and helpful thought patterns which can transform one's life.
DBT is a powerful treatment modality which helps one with a chronic history of self-harm and suicidal ideation to learn how to regulate your emotions and build a life worth living. I am DBT-informed clinician and believe it is possible to decrease suicidal ideation, emotion dysregulation, and learn how to utilize the skills of DBT to improve self-esteem, mental wellness, and personal relationships.
