My name is Dr. Olushola Bakare, and my work centers on helping people recognize the strengths they already carry. Just as a fish is built to swim and a bird to fly, I believe each of us has our own natural way of moving through life, and my role is to help you find and lean into yours. I work with adults and older adults who are ready to feel more grounded, confident, and understood, in a space that is safe, warm, and free of judgment. To help make sure we are the right fit from the start, I want to be upfront that my practice does not currently include couples counseling, medication management, or completing disability, FMLA, or legal paperwork. I work with adults 18 years and older. If any of these are part of what you are looking for, I am happy to help you find a provider whose practice is built around that support.

Greetings and thank you for considering me in your search for support along your journey for healthier and more fulfilling life experiences. My name is Jeremy Darden and I have been a licensed mental health therapist for nearly 15 years. I believe that therapy in its optimal form serves to empower and remind individuals that they have everything they need within them (the capacity to learn, grow, adapt, unlearn/deconstruct) and within their reach (the capacity to seek and ask for help; access resources; connect with others that can guide, support, and encourage). I look forward to working together

Courtney Matthews, MS, LCPC, NCC Do you find difficulty identifying and communicating your needs to those around you? I've spent my career curating a person-centered approach that allows for the consistent building of strong therapeutic relationships encouraging the development of meaningful insight and change within the lives of my clients. Specializing in treatment concerning anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma-informed care, as well as executive functioning, my person-centered approach supports the integration of personal agency and self-worth into the management of your daily life. While earning my MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Johns Hopkins University, I completed my internship at Friendship Public Charter Schools Collegiate Academy, Washington, DC. In doing this I was allowed to work with adolescents from diverse economic backgrounds which expanded my views regarding the definitions of meaningful work within the counseling setting. After receiving my Master of Science, I worked at Turning Point Clinic in Baltimore, MD. Utilizing my experience, I helped individuals suffering from substance use disorders realize the effect internal as well as external factors have on their use. Most recently I am working with clients in a community-based holistic mental health and wellness center (Balance Point Wellness) to process their thoughts and emotions as well as find coping strategies that may work as scaffolding to manage short-term as well as long-term functional difficulties related to their mental health.

Hello, my name is Michelle. I believe therapy is a time to examine internalized experiences that shape our perspectives and behaviors. Engaging in introspective work together can challenge us to reframe maladaptive thoughts. I aim to assist clients with managing emotional dysregulation and symptoms associated with depression, anxiety, and trauma in a safe, nonjudgmental space. I hope to foster growth and strengthen coping skills during difficult transitional points in a person’s life. I am interested in exploring my clients' family of origin and attachment styles. I have a special sensitivity to sociocultural factors and intergenerational trauma. I embrace the complexities that make up the lived experiences of my clients and affirm their unique identities.

My journey to becoming a mental health professional started with a deep curiosity about how the mind and body work together, and a passion for holistic approaches that support emotional well-being. Over the years, I’ve gained experience in a variety of clinical settings—including outpatient mental health clinics, hospitals, and private practice—which has given me a broad perspective on mental health care. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience supporting children, women, and families through life’s challenges, I am genuinely excited to offer a therapy space where you can feel safe, supported, and free to be yourself. Our work together will promote healing and growth while also making room for honesty, creativity, laughter, and learning to give ourselves a little more grace along the way. With specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), mindfulness, and creative expressive arts, I help clients explore how past experiences, relationships, negative thoughts, and behavioral patterns may be impacting how they feel and live today. From there, we work together to build practical coping skills and create healthier patterns that support the life you want to live. My style is warm, real, strengths-based, and interactive. Building a strong therapeutic relationship matters to me, and I take time to truly get to know my clients beyond their symptoms or diagnosis. You can expect me to listen, ask questions, teach, encourage, offer perspective, and sometimes challenge you with compassion. I believe in noticing the small wins and creating a space where there is no shame in being a work in progress. My professional journey has included behavioral health, child welfare, crisis services, leadership, and clinical practice. I’m also a University of Maryland graduate, DMV native, and mother of two. Both my professional and personal experiences shape the compassion and practicality I bring to therapy. My goal is for you to leave therapy feeling heard and grounded, while also gaining greater insight and practical tools you can use outside of our sessions. Therapy is a partnership, but ultimately, I want to help you develop skills, confidence, and compassion for yourself that you can carry forward into your everyday life.

Hi! I am Alyson Davis, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I am a millennial and military brat that grew up in Northern Virginia. Currently, I reside in Maryland and have licenses in both Maryland and Virginia. I am taking clients in both states via telehealth. For undergrad, I attended the University of Alabama (ROLL TIDE!) and for my graduate education and clinical training I practiced at Valdosta State University. The therapeutic modality I use the most often is Narrative Therapy. Using Narrative Therapy, I help clients change the problem stories in their heads to preferred stories to improve their behaviors, relationships, and life outlook. With this practice, I enjoy using journal prompts, metaphors, and media. I am not a trained Christian therapist, but I do identify as a Christian, and enjoy using all religion and spirituality in my practice, but it is not required. I am LGBTQ-IA+ affirming and believe in honoring and creating space for all identities in session. A personal joy of mine is working with Black clients who are first-timers in therapy to work on destigmatizing mental health and healing the impacts of white supremacy. More specifically, I prioritize supporting Black clients who grew up in predominantly White spaces who did not feel "Black enough." My favorite problem to work with is when someone says "I'm stuck," to help a client not only get moving but move in a healthy direction. In my personal life, I am married, am a mother to a sickle cell warrior son, have a wonderful bonus-daughter and playful Aussiedoodle. That being said, I have an appreciation for working with blended families and exploring dating post-divorce. For self-care I enjoy writing fiction, listening to 90's and 2000s R&B, and watching romcoms. Looking forward to helping your healing journey.

I’m a licensed professional counselor who works with adults navigating identity, relationships, ambition, and the internal pressure to “have it together.” Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, high-capacity individuals who appear stable and successful on the outside but feel conflicted, stuck, or emotionally isolated underneath. My role is to create a space where complexity is welcomed and nothing has to be simplified to be understood. My background in mental health allows me to approach therapy with both clinical rigor and relational depth. I pay attention to patterns — in attachment, communication, shame, avoidance, over-functioning, and self-criticism — and help you understand how those patterns developed and why they made sense at the time. From there, we work toward updating them so they align with who you are now, not who you had to be in order to survive earlier chapters of your life. I tend to be direct, engaged, and structured. I don’t believe in vague therapy that drifts without direction. At the same time, I don’t rush the process. Insight without application doesn’t create change, and action without understanding doesn’t create stability. We work toward both.

Are you juggling a career, aging parents, kids, and your own health — usually in that order, with yourself last? You're not alone, and you don't have to keep running on empty. I work with women navigating the many chapters of life — starting out in a career, caught in the sandwich generation squeeze, stretched thin by role overload, carrying the mental load of holding everyone else together. Together, we'll build practical strategies to manage stress, set boundaries without guilt, and reconnect with what you actually need. If you're ready to stop putting yourself last, I'd love to help. I use an integrative approach grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused techniques, tailored to your goals and pace. With over 20 years of clinical social work experience across school, medical, and community settings, I bring both deep expertise and genuine warmth to our work together. My counseling style is warm, interactive, and collaborative — I believe deeply in treating every client with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I tailor my approach to meet each client's unique needs, drawing on cognitive-behavioral and solution-focused therapy to help you move toward meaningful, lasting change. I meet you where you are, and we work together to define and achieve your goals at a pace that feels right for you. I have experience working with a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting challenges, ADHD, chronic health conditions, and perinatal mental health — including postpartum depression. It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling life and to take that first step toward change. If you're ready, I am here to support and empower you.
