About me

A highly experienced therapist with a broadly humanist perspective serving an exceptionally wide range of people experiencing a great variety of life's challenges in various human service and treatment capacities over a span of more than thirty years and in private practice for more than six, who enjoys helping those who are frustrated, anxious and depressed and troubled move forward and become more of what they could and wish to be in life and in their relationships, and who would be happy working with you, your child, your spouse, or your family members individually or together!

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Before our first meeting, I will ask you to provide background information and compete questionnaires that will help me better understand what you need and seek from therapy and will prepare us to start. Then, we will be able to talk freely, whether you want to lay things out as you see them, or want me to make inquiries or just listen, having flexibility to become comfortable, develop trust, and develop perspective and understanding, and trying out changes between the next and subsequent meetings to learn what is most helpful and works best for you. I do not pressure people to disclose or discuss what they are not ready to disclose or discuss, recognizing that this requires the development of trust which is in itself an important task of therapy which is developed through experience.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

In my work I strive to create a safe space for you to disclose, discuss and process your concerns without shame or blame and with acceptance, empathy and understanding and to help you to do the same with others and to apply what you discover and learn to your life in a way that relieves stress and tension, improves mood, renews enthusiasm and builds strengths and new energy for success and greater closeness for yourself and with your loved ones. My embrace of universal values - the inherent potential, worth and rights of every individual; wide experience with and appreciation of diverse people of every race and many nationalities and backgrounds, all ages and phases and many walks of life; my spiritual orientation and comfort with and appreciation of all religions - has provided me with a perspective that you are likely to find accepting, helpful and insightful and am open to feedback if you do not.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Having come this far to even consider seeking help is evidence of capacity for healing change and the first step toward overcoming whatever it may be that is distressing you! The second is to talk with me about scheduling an initial meeting. For this I offer a free brief consultation. Then you can schedule, and you'll be on your way to a better, more hopeful and happier future! Don't delay....
