Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C), (LICSW) based in Maryland and DC. I have spent 8 years developing my skill set, with the goal of providing quality care services to every person I encounter. My compassion and love for people is what has driven me to pursue an Associates Degree in Human Services, a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work at Coppin State University and a Master's Degree in Social Work at Morgan State University with a concentration on Urban Youth and families.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into specific challenges you are facing. With compassion and understanding, I will meet you where you are. I will provide a personalized approach tailored to help you build on your strengths and attain the balance and growth you are committed to accomplishing.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Beginning the therapy process is a big step. My approach is collaborative and I spend quality time focused on building a therapeutic alliance. Understanding the importance of attentive listening and empowering through the delivery of strength based, impactful and supportive services is essential to the therapeutic process. Clients are able to attend sessions and ensure that we are a good fit and through this, the therapeutic relationship evolves.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize CBT as a form of short term therapy with a focus on helping clients deal with very specific problems. During the course of treatment, I help clients learn to identify and change destructive thought patterns that shape their behaviors.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I use mindfulness meditation practices to help clients reduce stress, become more aware of their own thoughts feelings and regulate emotions. Clients report feeling more relaxed, and less stressed when using mindfulness strategies.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Helping clients to rid themselves of the idea that negative human emotions need to be fixed, managed, or changed and not experienced as part of whole life. We are treating our own lives as problems that need to be solved. I use ACT skills with clients to help take steps to change behavior while also accepting psychological experiences.
