New to Grow
I am a Licensed Professional Clinical counselor with experience in the mental health field dating back to 2014. I received my training providing crisis care at the Community Research Foundation (i.e. crisis houses), Bayview Crisis Stabilization Unit (affiliated with Paradise Valley Hospital, Kaiser and Horizon Adult Daycare Center. In those roles, I gained experience working with kids 3 and up, adolescence, couples and adults. I have experience using various modalities: Trauma Informed Care, Person Centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectal Behavioral Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (just to name a few). I received my Masters of Science from SDSU. I received my Bachelors from St. Mary's College of Maryland.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session, clients can expect a welcoming, collaborative space focused on getting to know them and not rushing to "fix" anything. We'll talk about what brings you to therapy, what you hope to gain, and what has or hasn't worked for you in the past. I'll also ask questions to better understand your values, strengths, cultural beliefs, and seek to determine how your various identities developed over time in various contexts.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I view therapy as a collaborative, strengths based process. We work together to identify your values and use them to guide treatment decisions and goals. Through a trauma informed approach, I focus on creating a sense of safety and providing practical tools that support healing and trauma processing.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
If you’re feeling overwhelmed by depression, anxiety, grief or a major life change such a job loss, separation, or becoming a new parent or ongoing parental stress you’re not alone. Having received my training at Kaiser, Paradise Valley Hospital, and the Community Research Foundation, I have been in the counseling field for 10+ years which has allowed me to fine-tune my skills to offer a supportive, compassionate space to help you navigate these challenges and work towards your goals. I’d be happy to connect with you to talk about next steps and to see if we’re a good fit
