I’m a therapist who often starts with a simple question: “Where are you in time and space?” I ask because I want to meet you exactly where you are, moment to moment, with curiosity, compassion, and real interest in your story. Together, we pay attention to how you connect (or pull away) from yourself and others, including what shows up between us in the room, so those patterns can shift. I draw from different tools and perspectives to fit who you are, and I value collaboration, honesty, playfulness, and helping you leave sessions feeling a little more grounded, motivated, and whole.

Hello. My name is Ana and I am a bilingual Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (128445), in the beautiful state of California. I have been in the counseling and social work field for 25+ yrs. Simply stated, I was born to do therapy, it is a gift and an honor. I am a safe, trusting and caring person, that is able to connect with a diversity of people, especially those that feel inadequate. I have worked with children, teens, elderly, foster care, gang members and most recently, death row inmates in prison. I have found through many of those experiences that emotional pain, feeling alone, being scared to live and having anxiety or depression is common and universal. However, I also know that the desire to live a deeper, peaceful and meaningful life can also be a driving force. I too have done much of that internal work and reflection in my life. I have learned that it is OK to be just me, no longer fearing to live the life that I have earned and deserve. I would love the same for you.

Most people don’t need more advice. They need space to slow down enough to hear what’s actually happening inside them. My work is less about fixing and more about listening; not just to the words, but to what’s underneath them. The pace of our conversations will be different from the rest of your life: slower, steadier, more honest. My goal is to help you come into contact with yourself again, to notice what’s true and what you really want.

I’m someone who believes that healing doesn’t happen in isolation—it happens in relationships where we feel safe enough to be real. As a therapist, I show up with warmth, honesty, and deep respect for your story. I’m especially drawn to working with people who’ve had to hold it all together for others, often at the expense of themselves. If you grew up feeling unseen, like you had to shrink yourself to stay safe or lovable, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to keep doing it that way. In our work together, I’ll meet you with curiosity and compassion. I’m here to help you understand where your patterns come from, reconnect with the parts of yourself that got buried, and figure out what healing actually looks like for you. There’s no pressure to be perfect—just space to be honest, explore what matters, and feel a little more free.

I’m a Marriage and Family Therapist who works with thoughtful individuals and couples who work hard yet still feel anxious. Many are looking for more than surface-level coping skills—they want deeper understanding and lasting change. Many of the people I work with are navigating anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, or big questions about meaning, purpose, and identity—often while holding demanding roles in their personal or professional lives. In addition to my clinical work, I teach couples counseling as an adjunct professor at California State University, Northridge (CSUN). Teaching keeps me grounded in both theory and practice, and it reflects how much I genuinely enjoy helping people understand relationships more deeply—whether that’s learning how conflict works, how attachment shapes connection, or how to communicate with more honesty and care. I also bring an unconventional but deeply human element into my work: humor. I’m a comedian outside the therapy room, and when used thoughtfully, humor can help lower defensiveness, build trust, and make difficult conversations feel more approachable. Therapy doesn’t have to be heavy all the time to be meaningful. I have particular experience working with healthcare workers and others in high-pressure systems, including those balancing responsibility, burnout, and emotional fatigue while still needing to function at a high level. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded, integrating attachment-based, somatic, mindfulness-based, and practical strategies tailored to each client. Above all, I aim to create a space where people feel safe, understood, and free to explore what really matters to them—at their own pace, and with curiosity rather than judgment.

Autumn is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who specializes in helping adults, teens and couples navigate anxiety, emotional overwhelm, and relationship conflict with clarity and confidence. She began her career working with young adults on a college campus, supporting clients through anxiety, depression, identity development, and major life transitions. This foundation shaped her understanding of how early relational experiences and life-stage stressors impact emotional regulation and self-worth. Autumn later served on the Orange County Crisis Assessment Team, where she de-escalated high-risk situations and conducted assessments for suicidality, homicidality, and grave disability. Working with individuals in acute distress strengthened her ability to remain calm, grounded, and deeply compassionate during life’s most overwhelming moments. In private practice, Autumn works with individuals struggling with anxiety and anger as well as couples caught in cycles of miscommunication, disconnection, and recurring conflict. She helps clients understand the deeper patterns driving their reactions so they can respond with intention instead of reactivity. With couples, Autumn uses a Gottman-informed approach to address attachment wounds, rebuild trust after betrayal, strengthen communication, and foster lasting connection. Her work is practical, insight-driven, and collaborative — blending evidence-based tools with warmth and accountability. Autumn believes therapy should be a space where you feel both supported and challenged. Whether you are navigating anxiety that won’t quiet down, emotions that escalate quickly, or a relationship that feels stuck, she helps you build the awareness and skills needed for meaningful, sustainable change.

If you’re reading this, it means you exist. Based on your religion, culture, or general belief, you may have a meaning for existence. However, no matter your meaning, one thing is clear - existence can be very challenging for us. There are many ways to cope with the challenges of existing, resulting in different experiences. Therapy is just one way to manage the challenges. Therapy There are many ways to approach therapy. One way I like to approach it is to view an individual as a system. In therapy then, we check the system to see what’s working well, what’s neutral, and what’s not going well. In doing this, the goal is to get an individual to admit the reality of things, not what the individual wants or hopes but the present true reality. It's important to identify and understand the reality of an individual because often there are significant fears and or unstable belief in the individual’s ability to manage challenges and get desired results. Lack of control – one of the foundational fears for us is the lack of control we seem to have over ourselves and others. How does one cope with seemingly so little control - from how one comes into existence to how will my friend react if I said no. Whether you’re a veteran in going to therapy or trying it for the first time, we will work as a team to see if we can get you to be how you want to be given the infinite things that are not in your control.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by California rather than a city like LA?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in California. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across California from San Francisco to San Diego! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in California.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What happens during the first therapy session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
