New to Grow
I am a lantinx female, who enjoys hearing others stories and helping people discover their strength and authentic selves. My approach is rooted in the belief that you are the expert on your own life. As a compassionate-client centered therapist, I provide a safe, non-judgemental space where we will work together to uncover your inner wisdom, build your unique strengths, and collaboratively navigate a path towards growth, healing and balance. My work is primarily working with people who have some level of neuro-diversity (ADHD, Anxiety, ASD) themselves or love and care for a person who is neurodivergent.
At our first session I will want to hear about what brings you this season of life where you are wanting to engage in therapy to work through challenging life circumstances, discover patterns and make changes to get to the life you want. I hope together we can clarify someways in which we might work together to help you find peace, joy and skills to navigate the rough patches of life.
I think my strength is my lived experience, education and training. I leverage all of these things to support my clients as they find clarity for their own journey.
I hope to come along side others who are ready to do the hard work of being introspective as they explore the circumstances of where life has brought them to today. I enjoy working collaboratively with others as they do the hard work of creating a life they love.
I lean towards working with the the intersection of a persons present, past and future. I believe the experiences and choices of our past impact our present and with hard work and intention healing and growth are in the present and future are possible! Sometimes we need to work on untangling the past present and future to truly find peace, contentment and joy that makes life meaningful!
Life can often be a cycle or patterns that we need to evaluate to create change in life. Situations/circumstances> lead thought>emotions> action/behavior. Sometimes, we need to take a closer look and dig into why we do, what we do. Gaining understanding of our thoughts, feelings and actions so we can make changes or accept what can't be changed or is not in our control can actually lead to freedom and feeling liberated!
Understanding how we attach to others and what we can offer and need from relationships can be a game changer. Learning about ourselves and others is truly a beautiful and sometimes grueling process. Looking at life throught a lens of attachment can help us better understand ourselves and those we live life with everyday.
Both/And....two things can be true at the same time. What I like about DBT is it offers some basic strategies we all need to navigate stressful life circumstances.
I love that in existential work we can look at the narrative we tell about our lives. Through the story and metaphors we use to make sense of our life we can find growth and healing!
