LMFT, 24 years of experience
Hello, I have been working in the mental health field for over 23 years and have been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 2010. I have worked in multiple settings (outpatient, inpatient, community-based) and with all ages across the spectrum of mental health issues, from severe and persistent mental illness to lifespan adjustment and transition issues, work-related stress, parenting or other relationship stress, etc. I work to help clients gain insight and develop skills for better symptom and life management. I am currently not accepting couples at this time; I am accepting individual adults of all ages at this time.
The first session will be a time to get a sense of who each other is, clarifying styles, preferences, needs, issues, and concerns to be explored. There will be time for any questions and a review of how the therapeutic "container" is held for safety and growth, along with the identification of the specific goals for a collaborative plan for treatment going forward.
While I am soft-spoken and gentle energetically, I also can be experienced as direct and fierce, saying the things that can be hard to hear but need to be said. I am comfortable exploring many topics considered taboo in our society and even in our field and work to create an open, non-judgmental explorational environment for deeper and more meaningful access to psychological and emotional material. I have a commitment to helping people see themselves more clearly and work toward greater self-acceptance through this process of becoming more self-aware. We can then make choices that are healthier for us each step of the way as we become more self-empowered and self-actualized. I feel that a great deal of the pain in our experiences comes from not feeling that we can be our authentic selves and be loved as we are. I came from a loving family, but there was a great lack of personal insight and self-awareness which ultimately blocks true understanding and the empathy necessary to foster self-love and overall soul growth -- helping others see these types of dysfunctional dynamics and better navigate them has become my passion.
Because my approach is insight-oriented, I tend to work best with individuals who can engage in a self-reflective process and see the value in digging deeper into psychological/emotional experiences to find one's own meanings and truths. People who tend to benefit from my approach will have done some prior personal growth work, which includes having been in therapy prior or having been engaged in other forms of consciousness work. More pragmatic skill development is also a part of this therapeutic approach to allow for increased relationship satisfaction and greater functionality in all areas of life.
This therapeutic approach works well with individuals to help identify the personal meaning in one's experiences to get to the truths of internal experiencing and one's relationship with the external world in order to increase self-awareness and embrace self-responsibility, self-empowerment, self-agency, and self-acceptance.
As a humanistic therapist, I seek to provide an atmosphere of support, empathy, and trust in which an individual can share their feelings without fear of judgment. Aspects of this approach can help clients remain in touch with their experience "in the moment" and can increase self-awareness and positive growth.
Eclectic therapy is a flexible and integrative approach to psychotherapy that allows me to draw on the most effective aspects from across the spectrum of theoretical models and approaches to address each individual client's needs.
While integrative and eclectic therapy are sometimes used interchangeably, there are some key differences between these two approaches. Integrative therapy focuses on combining the elements from various modalities into a more cohesive experience, allowing therapists to draw on different techniques as they are needed. The goal of this is to improve the efficacy and efficiency of treatment and adapt it to the specific needs of the individual.
Being sensitive to clients' experiences, trauma informed therapy recognizes the significance of a strong therapist-client relationship as pivotal in guiding individuals through their journey of healing. This a profound collaborative process where therapists become partners in their clients’ journeys towards healing and growth.

Rebecca is by far the most incredible mental health professional I have crossed paths with on my journey thus far. Empathetic and wise, with knowledge and compassion for any situation that crossed our conversations. She helped me through such pivotal times in my life over our year working together. If you can find time with her, make it work! You will not regret it! I don’t possess the accurate verbiage to state my appreciation and thankfulness to her.

Rebecca has been excellent. She knows when to listen and when to ask probing questions.
