Hello and Welcome, I am Dr. Nicola. Do you feel overwhelmed and stressed with your day-to-day life? Do you find yourself taking care of everything and everyone except yourself? Are you struggling to balance work and relationships? Or maybe you are different and do not feel like you know where you belong. You are not alone. I help individuals, like yourself, manage and overcome life obstacles that have been placed in their way! You can expect to be welcomed into a safe space where you can be vulnerable to share your most inner thoughts and grievances. I understand that seeking therapy can be scary, so thank you for being brave and making the first step! Now allow me to accompany you along the rest of this journey! You deserve to have a piece of mind that surpasses all understanding! As a retired Army officer, I have worked with various populations all over the country. I take pride in empowering others to take back control of their lives, regardless of their situation! Whether it is an intimate partner relationship, a new transition in life, marital issues, trauma, grief, depression, or anxiety, I am here to help! You can depend on me to provide culturally sensitive, culturally-responsive, trauma-informed, gender-affirming, sexually-affirming, and client-centered services using evidence-based practices. I am confident that together we can find the right recipe for you to heal and grow! So let’s talk and get started!
Clients can expect peace of mind knowing that they are in a safe space.
I take a collaborative therapeutic approach to therapy. I use evidence-based treatments such as client-centered therapy, narrative and talk therapy, solution-focused, mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), strengths-based therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive processing therapy (CPT), etc. Every client is unique; therefore, I am intentional about ensuring your treatment plan is tailored to fit your specific needs!
One of my biggest strengths is the use of Affirmative Therapy. This is an approach that will help you embrace a positive view of yourself. For example, when working with the LGBTQiA+ community, I help you explore your gender identity or expression; explore your sexuality; and your thoughts about coming out; and identify and manage depression, anxiety, gender dysphoria, discrimination, and bullying. I am effective in working with individuals experiencing life transitions such as divorce, military separation, grief/loss, career changes, and discrimination in the workplace! And most importantly, I look forward to working with you! Additionally, as a veteran, I work with individuals with PTSD, workplace bullying, and leadership focus.
