Yana Nogid
I love guiding people on their healing journeys. It is a privilege to be invited into someone's inner world, and my priority is to create a safe space for this deep work to happen. If you have high self-awareness and insight but still struggle to shake anxiety, depression, negative relationship patterns, or strong emotional and visceral responses—and you recognize these are stored deep within your nervous system and unconscious mind—EMDR therapy may be the right approach for you. EMDR supports the brain's natural ability to heal and is a highly effective, evidence-based trauma therapy. To complement this, I integrate interventions from other proven modalities, including parts work, compassion-focused therapy, somatic-focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and motivational interviewing.
First session
Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially if it is your first time. In our very first session, my primary goal is to help you feel safe, comfortable, and heard. We will use this time to gently explore what brings you to therapy, look at the patterns you are hoping to change, and discuss your goals. Because my approach is deeply relational and collaborative, this session is a two-way street—it is just as much about us getting to know each other and ensuring we are a good fit as it is about gathering history. You won't be facing a clinical 'blank slate'; you will be talking to a real human being who meets you with curiosity and warmth. By the end of our first hour, you will leave with a clear understanding of what to expect moving forward, a collaborative roadmap for your healing, and hopefully, a sense of relief knowing that you don't have to carry these heavy things alone.
Strengths
In my sessions, I bring a deeply relational approach combined with compassion, curiosity, and collaboration. Being relational means I don't sit back as a distant, passive observer; I bring my authentic self into the room and view our connection as a vital part of your healing. Within this secure foundation of emotional safety, I offer insight, direction, and guidance to help you break old patterns. I also bring humor into my practice to keep our work grounded and human. Together, we will use our therapeutic relationship as a safe laboratory to understand your external relationship dynamics, giving you the clarity and confidence to heal.
Ideal clients
The people who tend to thrive in my practice are those who possess a high degree of self-awareness and insight, yet find themselves feeling stuck. You might deeply understand why you feel the way you do, but you still struggle to shake chronic anxiety, depression, negative relationship patterns, or intense, visceral emotional responses. Mindset-wise, you are likely curious about yourself, open to exploring the mind-body connection, and ready to move beyond traditional talk therapy. Your ultimate goal is not just to manage your symptoms, but to process and heal the root trauma stored in your nervous system. You are looking for a collaborative, active therapeutic relationship where you feel entirely safe to bring your authentic self, while receiving the clear insight, direction, and guidance needed to create lasting, transformative change.
Treatment methods
EMDR
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a highly researched, evidence-based modality for treating trauma. In practice, it involves using bilateral stimulation—such as following a visual cue with your eyes from left to right, or using alternating left-and-right physical taps—while briefly focusing on a distressing memory or experience. Doing this type of processing helps the brain re-catalog the memory. It significantly decreases or even eliminates the emotional distress tied to the past event. Ultimately, this allows the experience to finally feel like it is truly in the past, rather than it still being alive and active within your nervous system today. Research shows that EMDR is highly effective not just for PTSD and trauma, but also for anxiety, panic disorders, grief, and depression.
