Hello! I have been continuously licensed as a Clinical Psychologist since 1999. I grew up poor in inner city Cleveland. I was the 1st in my family to complete a college degree of any kind. I was a truck driver before I became a psychologist. I have a neuromuscular disability which effects my lower arms and hands and lower legs and feet. I use a wheelchair for long distances but I can walk a little. I graduated with a BA in psychology from Cleveland State University in 1992. I graduated with my doctorate in clinical psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in Chicago in 1998.
Do you feel like something is holding you back? Getting in your way? Many people run into barriers- barriers that keep them from achieving their goals, get in the way of their relationships, or keep them from moving on. These barriers can look like anxiety, depression, trauma, communication patterns, etc. This is where I can help!
I have worked with crisis services and trauma survivors my whole career; and trauma can look different for everyone! I enjoy nothing more than helping clients identify the barriers that are holding them back; constructing a plan to break it down and take steps towards doing so.
I am a kind and supportive therapist. I provide a space for you to process your experience, pain and trauma so that you can move forward freely. Many of us carry unresolved concerns and issues; many of us have unresolved trauma. This weight keeps us back from being who we wish to be. I can remain present even during very difficult conversations.

Hello, my name is Ruth McKowen, I am an Licenced Independent Social Worker and I am happy and honored to do the important work of helping people navigate the challenges and difficulties of life. I have been in the mental health field for ten years; five of those years I worked in crisis intervention, where I had the privilege and opportunity to meet people who were at a very dark point in their lives and to help provide stabilization and hope.
My approach is centered on empowering clients to recognize their unique identity, skills, talents, and gifts, while providing the support and guidance they need.
I’m Angelica Gray, a Licensed Certified Social Worker in Arkansas and a Licensed Independent Social Worker in Ohio. I began my career as a child protective investigator in 2010, transitioned into mental health case management in 2014, and have been working as a psychotherapist since 2016. I’ve owned my own solo private practice since 2020 and enjoy working from home with my dachshund, Gretchen Wieners, who occasionally joins sessions to say hello.
I specialize in working with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, and life stressors, using evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). My approach is warm, direct, and trauma-informed, creating a space where clients can process difficult experiences, build effective coping strategies, and create meaningful, lasting change.
As a Licensed Independent Social Worker, I am passionate about working with individuals and families who are ready to better understand themselves, build on their strengths, and create meaningful, lasting change. My ideal clients may be navigating crisis, life transitions, or ongoing challenges such as co-occurring concerns, and are open to exploring the root causes of what they’re experiencing while developing practical tools for long-term growth.
I take a strengths-based approach, believing that each person already holds the foundation needed for success. Together, we identify and build on those strengths to move through obstacles with confidence and clarity. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Case Western Reserve University with a concentration in Drugs and Alcohol, and my Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Bowling Green State University.
With over eight years of experience supporting children, families, and adults—including those involved in foster care, caregiving systems, and crisis situations—I am comfortable working with clients who may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of their next steps. I especially enjoy partnering with individuals and families who are motivated to create change, even if they’re not quite sure where to begin.
I am a woman who grew up in a military family that has moved all around the world and changed many schools growing up. I started my career in juvenile corrections, then addiction studies, then mental health and now integrated healthcare. I specialize in the whole person and encouraging them to be the person they wish to be and seek to be. I have dealt with many adversities in my life as well as many amazing things that have occurred in my life. I use those experiences in my practice to empathize with my clients and remind them that all people experience things differently even if they are the same experiences. Individualized treatment is essential.
As a therapist grounded in empathy, my dream client embodies a spirit of openness and motivation for lasting change. This individual recognizes the challenges that come with personal growth but approaches therapy with a willingness to explore and confront these difficulties. They appreciate the journey of self-discovery and are eager to gain insights that can lead to meaningful transformation in their life.
In our sessions, I envision a collaborative environment where they feel safe to express their thoughts and emotions. They understand that progress may not always be linear, yet they remain committed to the process, even when it gets difficult. This client values the therapeutic relationship and seeks guidance to cultivate greater self-awareness, resilience, and mindfulness in their daily life.
What I cherish most about this ideal client is their ability to reflect on their experiences and actively engage in their healing journey. They inspire me with their courage to face discomfort and their desire to learn and grow. Together, we would explore life experiences and therapeutic techniques, fostering a deep connection that empowers them to embrace change with compassion and patience.
Ultimately, my dream client is someone who is not only motivated to seek help but also appreciates the support and insight I can offer. In this partnership, we would work hand in hand to navigate the complexities of their experiences, celebrating each step toward a more fulfilled and mindful existence. This collaborative spirit of growth and understanding is what makes the therapeutic journey profoundly rewarding for both of us.

Hi there! As a mom and someone who has personally healed through Internal Family Systems (IFS) parts work, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), somatic, and attachment-based work, I understand how past experiences can show up in relationships and parenting. I work with adults and parents who want to heal from complex trauma and attachment wounds—especially when the past keeps showing up in your relationships, parenting, or everyday life. If you’ve tried therapy before and are ready for deeper work, I can help you move past patterns that logic alone hasn’t solved. Together, we’ll use inner child work, nervous system regulation, and trauma-informed approaches to help you feel more grounded, connected, and confident in yourself and your relationships.
I’m a laid-back and easygoing person who genuinely enjoys helping others. In my free time, you’ll often find me reading a good book, trying a new coffee drink, or spending time with friends. I believe it’s so important to identify the things that bring you joy and meaning, and I’m passionate about helping others discover those things for themselves.
Becoming a therapist has been one of the most meaningful and impactful parts of my life. I value meeting people exactly where they are and walking alongside them in their healing journey. I’ve often been described as a great listener and someone who is open-minded and nonjudgmental—qualities I intentionally bring into every session.
My goal is to provide steady support, encouragement, and perspective as my clients navigate the complexities of life. It’s a privilege to be invited into someone’s story, and I don’t take that responsibility lightly.
