LPCC, 20 years of experience
New to Grow
I am an art therapist and LPCC-S (Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor - Supervisor). I have been working in the mental health and addiction world for over 20 years. I have had the pleasure of joining forces with children from the age of 3, to children the age of 87. I come from a family that has a long line of veterans and first responders. I have a strong passion for supporting our veterans and first responders but am open to partnering with anyone wanting assistance in life. I welcome any in person sessions as I am very much an empath and thrive when I can feel each person’s emotions in person. I own my own practice, Freedom Wellness Center LLC, in Canal Fulton, Ohio. The link to my website is at the bottom of this page.
In our first session, whether in person or online, my focus will be allowing you some time to get to know me, and what to expect. My goal is to make you comfortable and forget you are with a “therapist.” I will ask a lot of questions to complete required paperwork, but over the years I have learned how to do this in a conversation, not an interview. I want to know who you are, what you are doing well, and what isn’t working so well. How can I help you and what is going to be the best way to do that?
I have been told for the past 20 plus years that my greatest strength is my ability to make people comfortable so quickly. People trust me. I am so thankful for this blessing in my life and want to continue to use it to help make a difference in people's lives. My other strength is being able to quickly adapt to each person's needs, learning style, and readiness for change.
My "ideal client" is anyone who wants to get healthier. I have always prided myself on being able to work with anyone who needs and wants help.
After 20 years in this field, I use all forms of treatment, DBT, CBT, MI, etc..., but with a mindfulness-based approach. If we don't learn to be more mindful in our lives, none of the treatment methods would work....very well.
