Hey there! I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in Ohio. I graduated with a M.S. in Applied Developmental Psychology and a M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling ten years ago. Since then, I have completed trainings and furthering education in various topics with continuing education courses. I got into this profession because I truly love helping others! I work full time as a therapist in a local school district and continue to see adult clients on the side. When I'm not working, I am engaging with my two littles at home and spending time with family.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session together, we will spend time getting to know each other and working through your intake discussing symptoms, history, and treatment goals. After that, we get to talk about anything you want. I tend to go at your pace while encouraging you to push further. My biggest goal is to build a trusting relationship where you look forward to our sessions. If you are someone interested in both weekly, biweekly, or monthly counseling, I am up for whatever meets your schedule and preferred pace. Life gets a little crazy so I am understanding in needing to reschedule, but I ask that if you choose me to please respect my time as well!

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I have worked in the mental health field for the past 9 years. Starting out as a home based support staff, I spent time with children and families working on behavior management, communication, and symptom management skills. Then I transitioned into my role as a case manager. While completing those same tasks, I was able to increase my knowledge in community resources and organizations and assist in the transference of therapeutic skills in order to better help my clients.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I don't necessarily have a dream client, but I do enjoy working with clients who are willing to put in the work to improve their life. It takes effort outside our sessions to see the changes you are hoping for and wanting. I am here as a guide to help you along the path that is the best approach for you!

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I've been using CBT since becoming a therapist. It's helped many clients learn to identify and challenge reoccurring thoughts impacting their ability to function. Whether it's anxiety, depression, anger management, or relationship conflict to we focus on ways of changing your thinking patterns, behavior, and ultimately your feelings to improve your lifestyle.

Family Therapy

My approach to counseling can include others within the family to explore dynamics, perspectives, and healthy methods to moving forward as a whole system to improve functioning.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Through my conversations with clients, there is a focus on identifying and addressing emotions, thoughts, and behaviors as they arise. We work towards finding ways of coping and managing the most difficult emotions by learning to accept rather than avoid them. I will always encourage my clients to continue applying what we practice into their daily lives.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing involves the collaboration between myself and my clients focused on the hesitancy towards change and empowerment to make the necessary steps towards success.
