Hi, I'm Amanda. I'm a licensed clinical social worker with over 10 years of experience helping adults navigate trauma, attachment wounds, and emotional dysregulation. My approach is integrative — I draw from EMDR, Internal Family Systems, Polyvagal Theory, Attachment theory, and Mindfulness to tailor treatment to each person. I'm currently licensed in KY, OH, VA, TX, and FL and work with adults via telehealth.
Our first session is about building a foundation. We'll take time to get to know each other, talk about what's bringing you in, and begin identifying your goals. I'll ask questions to understand your history and what's felt helpful — or not — in the past. By the end, we'll have a sense of direction and you'll have a feel for what working together looks like. There's no pressure to dive into anything you're not ready for.
I bring both warmth and directness to trauma work, and I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. My greatest strength is meeting clients where they are — whether that means slowing down to build safety, working somatically with the nervous system, or helping someone finally make sense of patterns they've carried for years. Clients often tell me they feel genuinely seen and that sessions feel different from therapy they've tried before.
I love working with clients who are interested in treating childhood trauma or other traumatic events to regulate their emotions and nervous systems.
Attachment-based
I use attachment based therapy to help educate clients on the importance of secure attachments in your early childhood development, and the correlation to your adult relationships. Often we can be affected by emotionally immature relationships that create either internalizing or externalizing traits in our behavior. Understanding attachment can help us to have healthier attachments in our relationships.
EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing is a great therapy modality to assist us in regulating from acute past traumas. It can also help us understand long term components of past trauma. EMDR helps clients process past trauma much more quickly than other trauma treatment methods.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Internal Family Systems is a great treatment method to understand yourself a little better and live your life a little easier. It focuses on "parts," or sub-personalities we all have and how these parts influence our everyday lives.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
I find mindfulness based approaches so helpful in helping clients understand why we think the way we do. There is usually a connection between a life experience and our thoughts. Understanding mindfulness is instrumental in regulating our emotions and processing negative past events.
Trauma Informed Care
I utilize a variety of trauma informed treatments such as EMDR, IFS, and regulating practices to process trauma.

Amanda is incredibly supportive and flexible, always willing to take cues from me about how and where to go with my therapy discussions. She has a very personable disposition and shares her thoughts and perspectives without any judgmental attitude. She is a fantastic listener and that makes me feel safe.
