Together, we will identify your challenges and goals - where you want your life to be a month, six months, a year from now. Then, we'll identify options and strategies you can use to get there. You'll leave the session with a better understanding of what you're facing with an "actions I can take right now" approach. There will always be room for suggestions concerning our work together, including keeping each other accountable.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is a chance for us for me to get to know you and your goals. I want you to always feel comfortable sharing your history and your future goals from our first meeting and onward.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I have over 30 years of experience in various settings and with many different people. I tend to have a relaxed and holistic attitude as a result of many years and experiences.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Ideally, clients come prepared to share their history and how any past struggles might be impacting their relationships and plans for their future success. Sharing may not always be easy and could take time with trust and patience. I hope everyone who meets with me has a willingness to build trust and maybe even take risks to be open, share, and practice new skills to achieve their goals.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

ACT is helpful to manage difficult thoughts and emotions by promoting psychological flexibility and aligning actions with personal values.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

CPT is a specific type of cognitive behavioral therapy focusing on processing and reframing thoughts about traumatic experiences. It’s aim is to reduce symptoms of PTSD by addressing negative thought patterns that arise from trauma.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT is an approach that can help individuals manage intense emotions, improve relationships, and develop effective coping skills. It is a type of cognitive behavioral therapy for those experiencing emotional dysregulation and widely used to treat anxiety, depression, borderline personality disorder, and substance abuse.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Integrating mindfulness practices with cognitive behavioral therapy, this aims to help develop greater awareness of thoughts, emotions, and experiences without judgment, breaking the cycle of negative thinking.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

This approach emphasizes strengths and resources to create positive change, focusing on present and future goals rather than past problems. It is brief and goal oriented, future focused, with an emphasis on solutions, health, strengths rather than problems and underlying issues or deficits.
