New to Grow
I am passionate about supporting others in improving their wellbeing. I have been a dedicated mental health therapist for the past 9 years. I have provided therapy multiple settings including school-based and outpatient community agency collaborating with substance abuse clinicians. I have worked with children in a variety of settings for over 20 years. Before becoming a therapist, I was a preschool teacher and residential therapy technician for autistic youth.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Our sessions will focus on what you determine you need and growth you are hoping to pursue. Whether you are looking for support with managing mental health symptoms, coping with difficult life experiences, wanting to repair relationships, or develop new ways to increase your life satisfaction, we can work together to create the change and peace you wish to have in your life.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I am skilled at blending therapeutic methods to customize treatment to the specific individual I am working with. I integrate interventions to holistically treat each client. Building a connection and trust is crucial to a successful therapeutic relationship. I particularly enjoy connecting with clients who feel comfortable using humor in sessions which can allow us to be our authentic selves.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I work with children, adolescents, adults, and families. Clients often seek treatment for anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, family changes, behavior problems, emotional regulation concerns, and more. Building trust and connection are the foundations of a successful therapeutic relationship so I strive to create a welcoming and psychologically safe environment to help you reach your goals.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I integrate therapeutic methods and often use elements from trauma informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (t-CBT) to clarify unhelpful or negative thinking patterns and develop more accurate, encouraging automatic thinking.
Motivational Interviewing
Motivational interviewing is a helpful approach to determine the changes you want and figure out how to take action towards the progress you are looking to pursue.
Strength-Based
Everyone has different natural strengths, and I seek to help you understand yours and how to implement your strengths to make the improvements you want for yourself.
