"My greatest strength is cultivating an atmosphere of deep safety, authenticity, and genuine connection where clients feel fully seen, understood, and unjudged. Clinically, I integrate evidence-based frameworks—including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy—with specialized Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to process deep-seated trauma at its root. # Welcome to The Unraveling Room. For more than 25 years, I have worked in community mental health, crisis intervention, and hospital-based psychiatric practice. I've learned something along the way: **People are complicated.** I'm comfortable there. Maybe your story includes trauma, bipolar disorder, depression, personality disorders, chronic pain, complex medical conditions, or functional seizures (PNES). Maybe you've collected diagnoses, medications, specialists, and years of therapy—and still feel that no one quite understands the whole story. **You are not a diagnosis.** And you are not a problem waiting for the right therapeutic technique. You are a story. I don't fear your anger. Your intensity. Your contradictions. Your messy history. Or the part of your story you've been afraid to say out loud. **Bring it.** I am an active therapist. I listen deeply, but I also ask questions. I notice patterns. I make connections. I challenge when I believe it matters. We may laugh. We may work on practical skills. And sometimes we will sit together with something neither of us can fix. Medication can be an important tool. Medical care matters. When appropriate, I will collaborate with your psychiatric or medical providers. But **the relationship matters.** Twenty-five years of experience cannot replace what happens between two people in a therapy room. And I am not the therapist for everyone. If you want someone to mostly listen, I may not be your therapist. But if you want someone willing to enter the labyrinth with you—to ask difficult questions, follow unexpected turns, and stay when things get uncomfortable—we might fit. Our lives are patterns woven from countless threads. Some we chose. Some were handed to us. Some held us together. Some became knots. **We don't unravel you.** We unravel the pattern. **Bring your story. Bring the threads.** Let's see where they lead.

I have been licensed as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor since 2004, and have held a supervision designation since 2015. I have also held a Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor with a supervision/training designation license since 2018. I have maintained a private counseling practice in Chillicothe since 2000, and I continue to work with individuals and families in that capacity. I have dedicated my career to helping others and to working with the community to ensure the well-being of families and children. My most common theoretical approaches are Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Christian Therapy, but I am proud to be able to use a multitude of approaches, dependent on what works best for the client(s) involved. I value the individual and the couple regardless of age or philosophical approach to their life or relationship. I see my goal of treatment as improving the individual or couple to be the best they want to be. My communication tone or approach tends to be direct but laid back. Steven Johnston CPC LPCC-S has been a clinical counselor for over twenty years, with special training in the areas of Pastoral Counseling , having additonal experience in treating victims of Domestic Violence ; Child Sexual Abuse; Trauma, workplace issues and Marital counseling. A graduate from Ashland Theological Seminary in 1988. Because Mr. Johnston did not want to exclude religious commitment issues from the therapeutic setting, he chose to pursue his Counseling degree from Ashland Seminary after graduating with ministerial degree from the Foursquare Church of the Gospel’s, Life Bible College East. He has continued to extend his Clinical Pastoral Studies through membership and training in the American Association of Christian Counselors. To avoid excluding an aspect of life that has shown to be of central importance to nearly two-thirds of the US population, Mr. Johnston has sought to integrate spiritual issues from a Biblical point of view in a way compatible with Biblical doctrine and Pastoral Counseling. This integration as it applies to marital, family and individual issues has been found to promote inner healing as it supports the client’s own religious coping skills.

I go by Becky and have been working with children and families since 2004. I have provided many different kinds of case management and therapeutic services in my social work career. I believe that wellness includes many factors of a person's life--mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health. Some of those things in your life might be in balance while other areas are not. You probably already have the ability to manage many situation or challenges with a combination of existing strengths and learned skills; we can add to those together. My enjoy using play therapy. Through play child, families, and (yes!) adults can work through many issues in their lives. The best part is all the hard work doesn't feel like work. We learn skills by playing throughout our entire lives beginning with playing peek-a-boo; on the grade school play ground; sports and backyard games; as well as board games and card games with friends. If playing isn't for you, I also provide the traditional "talk therapy" that most people are familiar. I received a specialization in Military Social Work during my master’s program at USC and have a passion for working with those, both children and adults, who have experienced trauma. Trauma can show up in a lot of different ways and look like many things. In counseling, we can use a combination of CBT, solution focused, and problem-solving therapy, along with Motivational Interviewing, trauma therapies, and Play Therapy when appropriate. Your plan, developed in your words, will be a great road map for reaching your desired destination. I would be honored to walk with you along that path. Seeking help reflects the courage and drive that you already have within you.

I’m not the kind of therapist who just nods and asks how that makes you feel. That’s not what most men need, especially when it feels like it’s falling apart. I work with men who are overwhelmed, burned out, or angry and don’t know why. Men who feel stuck in their heads, disconnected from the people they love, or like they’re always one step away from snapping. Some are facing divorce. Others are trying to be better dads, partners, or sons, but they often feel like they’re failing. Many were pushed into therapy by someone who cares about them. Almost all of them stay once they realize it helps. My approach is practical, honest, and built for the real world. I use tools from CBT, mindfulness, and solution-focused therapy, plus a good dose of common sense to help you understand what’s going on and actually do something about it. No psychobabble. No lectures. Just straight talk and strategies that work. If you're tired of feeling angry, lost, or numb, it's going to be okay. You're not broken, and you're not alone. This isn’t about becoming someone else. It’s about finding your footing and getting back to who you were before life got so heavy.

Hello! I’m Rachel, and I’m so glad you’re here! As a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) in Perrysburg, Ohio, I really enjoy helping people work through various life challenges. Whether you're facing big life changes, dealing with trauma, or navigating relationships, I'd love to help. I use a combination of different approaches, like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and mindfulness techniques, but I believe the most important part of therapy is the connection we build together. If you’re looking for a supportive partner to help you find the right tools and strategies to reach your goals, we might be a good fit!

I believe coming to therapy is a sign of strength. It takes *guts* to reach out to a stranger in hopes they can help us improve our lives. Whether this is your first experience searching for therapy, or you’re familiar with the process and trying someone new, this can be intimidating. Knowing how hard coming to a therapist can be, I am proud to have helped hundreds of folks choose positive paths towards a more enjoyable life. I’ve been a licensed social worker for nearly two decades and am a graduate of The Ohio State University and Case Western Reserve University. I’ve practiced in a variety of settings, urban and suburban, with all ages. I am a huge proponent of finding joy, humor and peace where you can. I bring that attitude into sessions. Occasionally my cats come, too.

I'm a warm, compassionate therapist who believes in providing a space where you can show up as your whole self, without feeling like you're too much, not enough, or somehow doing life "wrong". I work primarily with teens and adults navigating anxiety, ADHD, burnout, and everyday stressors that can make life feel harder than it seems like it should. My approach is collaborative, combining genuine understanding with practical tools that can help you feel more confident and capable in your daily life. Most importantly, I want therapy to be a space where you feel heard, accepted, and comfortable being yourself while we work toward meaningful change.

Hi, I’m Kelly. I’ve been working in mental health for over ten years, and one thing I’ve learned is that you don’t need another person talking at you like a doctor, teacher, or expert who has your life all figured out. You need someone who can meet you where you are, understand what you’re going through, and help you figure out where you want to go from there. I work with teens and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, OCD, and personality disorders, with a particular interest in Borderline Personality Disorder. I’m trained in TF-CBT, DBT, and Somatic Experiencing, and I’m IFS-informed. I draw from these approaches based on what actually makes sense for you rather than forcing everyone into the same treatment model. My style is warm, direct, conversational, and human. I take the clinical side of therapy seriously, but I don’t want therapy to feel clinical. I want you to feel like you’re talking to a real person who happens to know a lot about mental health. I’m unapologetically anti-racist and deeply committed to supporting Black and Brown communities. I have extensive experience working with these communities and believe that race, culture, identity, and lived experience belong in the therapy room. I also recognize that racism, white supremacy, homophobia, transphobia, economic inequality, and immigration policy can have very real effects on our mental health. I’m gay myself and genuinely enjoy working with LGBTQ+ clients. Whether you’re navigating identity, relationships, family, minority stress, or just want a therapist who gets some of the context you’re coming from, you’re welcome here. Most importantly, you don’t have to show up as a “better” version of yourself. Bring the messy parts. We’ll start there.
