New to Grow
I’m a Marriage and Family Therapist, current PhD student in Medical Family Therapy, and clinician with a background in addiction treatment and trauma-informed care. I work with individuals, couples, caregivers, and families navigating addiction, chronic illness, serious mental health concerns, grief, trauma, and complex life transitions. My approach is warm, relational, explorative, and appropriately challenging when needed, with a focus on helping clients understand patterns, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful change.
Your first session will include a biopsychosocial assessment to help me understand the full picture of what you are currently experiencing. We’ll explore your concerns, relationships, health, history, strengths, supports, and goals so we can begin identifying patterns, immediate needs, and a direction for therapy that feels meaningful to you.
I bring warmth, curiosity, honesty, and a strong systemic lens. I know when to hold space and when to challenge patterns that may be keeping you stuck. My background in addiction, trauma, grief, chronic illness, and family systems helps me explore both the individual experience and the relationships surrounding it.
My ideal client may be an individual, caregiver, couple, or family navigating trauma, addiction, grief, chronic illness, serious mental health concerns, or major life transitions. They may feel overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or uncertain about what comes next, but are willing to explore patterns, consider new perspectives, strengthen relationships, build coping skills, and work toward meaningful, lasting change with greater clarity and confidence.
My master's degree included an emphasis in Trauma-Informed Systemic Therapy, and I have completed Level 1 training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). I use an attachment-based, systemic approach to help individuals, couples, and families understand how past experiences, trauma, and relationship patterns influence their emotional well-being. Together, we explore attachment needs, communication difficulties, and recurring relational patterns to strengthen emotional safety, rebuild trust, establish healthy boundaries, and create more secure, meaningful connections.
I have consistently incorporated Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) into my clinical practice for over six years, primarily in substance use disorder and addiction treatment. This experience has strengthened my ability to help clients recognize connections between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. While much of my experience originated in addiction treatment, CBT principles translate across many areas of care, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, and major life transitions. I integrate CBT within a trauma-informed, systemic approach to help clients challenge unhelpful patterns, develop practical coping strategies, and create meaningful, sustainable change.
I have completed extensive training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and currently have only 13 consultation hours remaining toward EMDR certification. I incorporate EMDR into my trauma-informed, systemic approach to help clients process distressing life experiences, unresolved trauma, and negative beliefs that may continue to influence their emotional well-being, relationships, and daily functioning. My approach emphasizes emotional safety, stabilization, and individualized treatment planning. I help clients work toward reducing trauma-related distress, developing healthier beliefs about themselves, and strengthening their ability to move forward with greater emotional resilience.
For over six years, I have consistently integrated Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills into my clinical work, primarily with individuals navigating substance use disorders, addiction, and co-occurring mental health concerns. My experience has demonstrated how DBT principles extend beyond addiction treatment and can benefit clients experiencing emotional distress, trauma, relationship conflict, and life transitions. I incorporate mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness to help clients manage difficult emotions, strengthen relationships, and develop healthier responses to challenges. My approach emphasizes balancing acceptance of current circumstances with intentional action toward meaningful change.
I have consistently incorporated mindfulness-based interventions into my clinical practice for over six years, primarily in substance use disorder treatment and co-occurring mental health care. I integrate mindfulness with CBT, DBT skills, and trauma-informed systemic therapy to help clients develop greater awareness of their thoughts, emotions, physical sensations, and behavioral responses. While my experience originated primarily in addiction treatment, these skills translate across many areas of care, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, chronic illness, and relationship difficulties. My approach emphasizes helping clients remain present, respond rather than react, practice self-compassion, and develop a healthier balance between acceptance and meaningful change.
