I’m Michael Woods Jr., a licensed professional clinical counselor with over 15 years of experience. I help people who are dealing with stress, pressure, and feeling stuck—even when things on the outside look like they should be working. My approach is real and straightforward. I’m not just here to listen—I’m here to help you understand what’s actually going on and give you practical tools you can use in your everyday life. I focus a lot on how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected, and how to start responding differently instead of reacting on autopilot. A big part of my work is helping people build awareness, take ownership, and develop the mental skills needed to handle challenges more effectively. I also bring in my background in athletics and performance, so there’s an emphasis on consistency, discipline, and doing the work—not just talking about it.

I’m a business owner, a single mom, and a foster and adoptive parent. I understand what it’s like to juggle multiple roles, carry constant responsibility, and still want to show up well for the people who matter most. One thing I say often is “work on yourself first.” It’s one of the few things we actually have control over, but it’s also the thing we tend to put off. We’re busy, we’re juggling everything, and before we know it, we’re stuck in patterns that feel frustrating and hard to break. No judgment here. I get it. I’ve been working with individuals and families as a therapist since 2018, with a background in healthcare prior to that, and I’ve spent my career serving the Fort Worth community I grew up in. I take a solution-focused, strengths-based approach, which means we’ll focus on what’s already working, build on your strengths, and create practical steps that actually move things forward.

If you’ve ever had the quiet thought, “Something just isn’t right,” you’re not alone—and it’s worth paying attention to. I provide a supportive, compassionate space where you can begin to explore those feelings without judgment. My work centers individuals navigating anxiety, depression, mood-related challenges, relationship concerns, and the lasting impact of trauma. I often work with people who have been “the strong one” for others—deep feelers, caregivers, and those who find themselves stuck in patterns of people-pleasing, codependency, or difficulty trusting themselves. Many of my clients are unpacking experiences related to abandonment, rejection, identity concerns, or emotional overwhelm. I also support neurodivergent individuals who are seeking greater understanding of themselves and more effective ways to regulate their emotions and experiences. My approach is warm, intentional, and grounded in the belief that healing does not have to feel cold or clinical. Therapy with me is a collaborative process where we move at your pace, creating space for reflection, emotional processing, and practical growth. Together, we will explore your experiences, challenge unhelpful patterns, strengthen boundaries, and reconnect you with a version of yourself that feels authentic and steady. Whether you are new to therapy or returning to deepen your work, I meet you where you are—with care, curiosity, and respect for your journey.

If I could write a letter to my younger self, I would tell her this: You are not broken. You are responding to what you’ve been through. And one day, your healing will become someone else’s hope. Hi, I’m Cherita Griffin, MS, LPCC-S, NCC, CYT, SEL-F, C-DBT, CMIP—a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervisory Endorsement who has spent over 20 years supporting people through mental health challenges. I’m also a Certified Yoga Teacher (CYT), Social Emotional Learning Facilitator (SEL-F), Certified Dialectical Behavior Therapist (C-DBT), and Certified Mindfulness Informed Professional (CMIP), allowing me to integrate both evidence-based practices and holistic approaches into the work we do together. I specialize in helping individuals who feel overwhelmed, stuck, emotionally exhausted, or disconnected from themselves find their way back to clarity, confidence, and peace. In our work together, we don’t just talk, we gently uncover, process, and rebuild. I combine evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, mindfulness, and Social Emotional Learning with a compassionate, real, and non-judgmental space. This is a place where: • You don’t have to have it all together • You don’t have to carry everything alone • You can finally exhale Healing is not about becoming someone new, it’s about returning to who you were before life taught you to shrink, question yourself, or survive in silence. You deserve to feel whole, worthy, and at peace.

Welcome, I’m Elaine a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), based in North Carolina, I’m also licensed to practice in Ohio and South Carolina. Take a moment to acknowledge you've taken the first step towards bettering your mental health because, let's be honest - starting therapy can be empowering, confusing, or scary, all at the same time. I strive to create a safe and welcoming environment. I believe that counseling should be a conversation in a private, peaceful setting where you can explore issues that are impacting your life. In a private, peaceful, therapeutic environment I will listen to you without judgment, provide support, insight and feedback to help you address current or long standing issues that are impacting your life and possibly interfering with your emotional well-being. I have over 20 years experience working with individual and families to address mood instability, depression, anxiety, personal trauma, grief/loss, interpersonal problems, chronic illness and substance abuse. I specialize in working with adults from a holistic perspective providing individual counseling using diverse therapeutic modalities. I believe that therapy works best when there is a commitment to attend regular scheduled therapy session. I believe that individuals are resilient and have the capacity to heal from within. I believe in creating pathways for positive change. I believe “ life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learn to dance in the rain”.

My name is Jennifer Bailey, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Registered Drama Therapist. I help clients identify and pursue the goals that lead to a life filled with meaning, pride, and contentment. Now, you may be wondering: “What exactly is a Registered Drama Therapist (RDT)?” Simply put, it means I integrate elements of theater and creative expression into the therapeutic process. With me, you have options. You might choose a traditional talk-therapy session to explore your thoughts, emotions, and goals. Or, if words don’t feel like enough, you might try something more experiential—writing, movement, role-play, or even reimagining and practicing conversations that keep replaying in your mind. Talk therapy is a powerful tool for growth, but sometimes it takes more than words to truly process what’s happening inside. That’s where creativity can open new doors. Whether through conversation, movement, sound, or artistic expression, I provide a space where you can choose what feels most healing and helpful. I would be honored to support you—whether that’s working toward personal goals, processing difficult emotions, or making positive and lasting changes in your life.

I enjoy working with clients who feel overwhelmed, stressed, anxious, emotionally stuck, or unsure of their next step, want to expand they choices, improve decision-making, and respond to life with more intention instead of reacting from stress or fear. Outside of my work as a therapist, I’m a wife to an amazing therapist, a mom of four children, an avid crocheter, and gardener. These parts of my life help shape the warmth, creativity, and groundedness I bring into my work. When I’m not in session, I enjoy creating and publishing reflective journals, volunteering, public speaking, and facilitating mental health workshops. I also participate in local wellness fairs where I share mental health education, resources, and support efforts to reduce the stigma around seeking help. With a master’s in clinical psychology and experience supporting people through trauma, anxiety, stress, and life transitions, I provide humanistic, person-centered care that treats the whole individual, not just their symptoms. As someone who has lived with type 1 diabetes for over thirty-five years, I understand the daily work of seeking peace and stability, and I bring that compassion into my work with clients. Hi, I'm Richelle. I'm a licensed professional clinical counselor with over eight years of experience helping individuals improve their mental health and quality of life. I have worked in a variety of settings, including online therapy. Right now, life may feel hard. You’ve faced many challenges that seemed to have come out of nowhere, and you're constantly doing your best to navigate through them. You struggle to set healthy boundaries and often feel overwhelmed. Asking for help isn't always easy. You may say to yourself, “What will people think? I can figure it out on my own.” It’s tough because you usually go at it alone, carrying the load and bearing the burden. However, deep down inside, you know that something isn't quite right and that you could use some support. Does this sound familiar? As someone who has been there before, I understand how tough it can be to take that first step to reach out. While you may feel like you have to handle everything yourself, these are the times when reaching out for help can give you some direction and help you find your path forward. The truth is, it takes strength and courage to say, “I need help.” And when you do, you'll find that you have the inner strengths and abilities to make meaningful change in your life. Together, we can work to discover those strengths and create a path forward that's tailored to your unique needs and goals.

Hi, I’m Christina Hampshire, DHS, LISW-S, CDCA. I’m passionate about helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and find healthier ways to cope. With a doctorate in Human Services specializing in Leadership and Organizational Management from Capella University, I bring over 13 years of experience as a licensed independent social worker (LISW-S) in Ohio. My work focuses on mental health and substance abuse therapy, and I’ve had the privilege of working with both youth and adults in individual, family, and group counseling settings. I use a blend of evidence-based techniques in my practice, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Solution-Focused Therapy, all tailored to meet each person’s unique needs. I also have a background in teaching as an adjunct instructor, where I’ve had the honor of inspiring many former clients to pursue careers in human services and become advocates for their communities. In group counseling, I often incorporate creative methods, drawing from my background in art to help clients express themselves and find healing in new ways. Outside of work, I’m an avid reader, writer, and art enthusiast. I love spending time with family, playing video games, singing my heart out at karaoke, and sharing laughs with friends. If you’re looking for support, whether it’s through therapy, guidance, or simply a safe space to explore your challenges, I’d love to work with you!

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by Ohio rather than a city like Columbus?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in Ohio. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Ohio from Cincinnati to Cleveland! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Ohio.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What happens during the first therapy session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
